Wat Su Thai is located in the center of Bangkok. The main attractions include the main hall, the monastery and the giant swing frame (SaoChingCha) at the entrance. In the main hall is a Buddha statue 8 meters high and 6.25 meters wide, with the remains of Rama VIII buried below. The main hall is very tall, and the entire walls and columns are covered with murals. There are also students taking Buddhist lessons and monks giving lectures. There are many stone carvings around the main hall, all in Chinese style, including stone pagodas, stone lions, exquisitely carved stone niches and historical Chinese figures. The surrounding corridors are full of Buddha statues. The huge swing in front of Sutai Temple has been banned from use by Rama VII, and now it is only an empty shelf. Bamrung Muang Road next to the temple is full of Buddhist supplies stores, and there are people making Buddha statues or Buddhist utensils on the street.
