Wat Samanakottharam, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya The building is located on the south side of the ancient site. It consists of a large prang base surrounded by a square gallery. It is a prang built around the end of the middle Ayutthaya period. It was built to cover a round bell-shaped pagoda on a circumambulation platform connected to the four corner pagodas and surrounded by another wall, which was built in the early Ayutthaya period. Further to the east, outside the gallery, is a large chapel, which was renovated again in the late Ayutthaya period. The same goes for the ordination hall, which is located on the west side of the temple in the same direction. The principal Buddha image in the ordination hall is Phra Si Samanakotbophit, 149 inches wide and 190 inches high. The Buddha image is made of sandstone in the Mara-Vijaya posture. It was built in the early Ayutthaya period.
