"Wat Prang Luang" is the oldest historical site in Nonthaburi Province. It is over 650 years old. It was built during the reign of King Ramathibodi I (King U Thong), who established Ayutthaya as the capital during the early Ayutthaya period, around 1890.
Go to the temple to pay homage to Luang Pho U Thong, U Thong art style, the principal Buddha image in the chapel. There are staffs to advise on the correct way to pay homage.
After paying homage, walk to the back. You will see the prang located between the chapel and the small chapel. It is made of brick and earth with a seven-tiered spire, with ten-cornered corners, decorated with stucco. The chedi has four leading niches in all four directions, which are where the Buddha image is enshrined. When paying homage, we will use flowers, incense, and candles to walk around the prang three times, while praying for what we want.
And behind the temple, there is a statue of King Rama V located on the canal bank. It is beautiful and the atmosphere is very good. There is convenient parking.
Location: Located on the bank of Khlong Bang Khon Noi, Tambon Bang Muang, Amphoe Bang Yai, Nonthaburi Province
🕰️: Opening hours: 08.00 - 16.30 hrs. Worship Luang Pho U Thong, U Thong art style, the principal Buddha image in the ordination hall.

- Wat Prang Luang was built in 1890. Another source states that it was built in 1908 during the reign of King Ramathibodi I (King U Thong), the founder of Ayutthaya. It is unclear who built it, but it may have been a king or a person with a title. It was originally called Wat Luang. It is believed that King U Thong migrated to this area to escape the plague before returning to establish the capital in Ayutthaya.
- The principal Buddha image in the old ordination hall, named Luang Pho U Thong, was destroyed in 1993 due to lack of appreciation. It is an U Thong style art. It is a stucco Buddha image covered with gold leaf in the Mara-Vijaya attitude, 9 cubits wide. The sema stones are large and made of slate without patterns, planted in the ground in the shape of sema stones. It was destroyed along with the old ordination hall. Currently, there is only one left. The small chapel is believed to have been built at the same time as the prang. It is a wooden building made of brick and mortar, consisting of 2 buildings.

The Palace of Grandfather Song Tai Hong Zhou Shi
🔰 Hello, today I just brought my friends to review the Vegetarian Festival. We are at the Luang Pu Song Tai Hong Shrine.
This place is located in Nonthaburi, Mueang District. During the Vegetarian Festival, it is open every day. You can stop by.
🔰 I will tell you the history.
Tai Hong Kong or Luang Pu Tai Hong (Chinese: 大峰祖師) was a Chinese Mahayana monk during the Song Dynasty, during the reign of Emperor Song Renzong until his death around the reign of Emperor Song Gaozong. He initiated the welfare of the villagers by collecting the bodies of the homeless, repairing damaged roads, and building bridges in places where they should be built. This was the origin of the Por Tek Tung Foundation, a Chinese charitable foundation.
