Wat Phutthanimit (Phu Khao), Kalasin Province 🙏🏻✨
Wat Phutthanimit (Phu Khao) “Khao” is an Isan language that means rope because the temple is located on a mountain that looks like a long rope. Therefore, it is the origin of this place, which is the place where the Buddha statue is enshrined, lying on its left side, which is more than 2,500 years old. The Fine Arts Department has registered it as the first ancient object of worship in Kalasin Province. It is located in Sahasakhan District, Kalasin Province. Every year on “April 19”, the villagers come together to pour water on the reclining Buddha, which has been a tradition for more than 50 years for good luck on Songkran Day. 💦🎉✨
