Wat Phuket
Wat Phuket
Located in Tambon Woranakorn, Amphoe Pua
Nan Province
Anyone who has heard the name may be surprised. The name of the temple should be in Phuket Province rather than Nan Province.
The origin of Wat Phuket is named after the village called Moo Ban Ket. But since the temple is located on a hill, which in the north is called "Doi" or "Phu", it was named "Wat Phuket", meaning Wat Ban Ket on the mountain or Doi Wat Phuket.
The viewpoint of the temple
This temple has a beautiful view. Because it is located on a hill, you can see the view from a high angle. You can see a wide view. The 180-degree viewpoint of the temple can see the rice fields and Phu Kha mountain range in a long, beautiful line.
There is a fresh coffee shop "Tub Na Tai Lue", a famous coffee shop in Amphoe Pua, and a stream below. In the morning, this temple is a point to watch the sunrise.
There is a Lanna-style chapel with 3D murals. It is the place where the sacred "Luang Pho Saen Pua or Luang Pho Phutta Metta" is enshrined. The Buddha faces east.
On the temple balcony, there is a place to feed the fish. To feed the fish, you have to pour it into the blue water pipe. Then the fish food will flow through the pipe down to the pond below. The fish pond is next to Tub Na Tai Lue Coffee Shop, next to the rice fields and next to Wat Phuket, Amphoe Pua, Nan Province.
Here, there is also Phuket Pha Tho Shop, selling local woven fabrics, such as clothes, Nam Lai pattern sarongs, shoulder bags, pillows, seat cushions and various local products.
Below the temple grounds is the Dharma Hotel, a building for those who come to practice meditation or interested tourists.
The building located at the viewpoint is called Phuket Santhaya Temple Stay, a 4-storey building with accommodation.
Wat Phuket's Dharma Hotel is considered the first in Thailand, which is not a temple hall for people to sleep in and then called a hotel. At Wat Phuket, there are buildings and rooms that look like a normal hotel, approximately a 3-star hotel.
For those who come to practice meditation, there are 8 bedrooms. The 4th floor is a meditation room. Those who come to practice meditation do not have to pay for accommodation.
Wat Phuket is also home to Wat Phuket's Buddhist School, which teaches from Mathayom 1 to Mathayom 6. There are many monk students who come to study here.
