The ancient site of Wat Khao Phra Anon, formerly known as "Wat Khao Hua Lang," is an old temple in Surat Thani province (believed to have been built in the late Ayutthaya period). We got to know this temple because a friend who works in Surat Thani took us to visit. Inside the temple, there is an ancient ordination hall with 11 stucco Buddha images in the Mara Vichaya posture. Despite their simplicity, they are beautiful and give a very peaceful feeling. Around the ordination hall, there are ancient boundary stones and an ancient stupa in the style of the Srivijaya Kingdom. It is another place I would recommend for those who want to pay respects and pray in a peaceful atmosphere.
