Visit the mural paintings in the ancient ordination hall.
🏡 Wat Huai Khen, one of the oldest temples in Phichit, houses an ordination hall built between 1913-1917. The hall is made of brick and mortar with a wooden roof covered with tiles.
🖼 Inside the ordination hall, the original mural paintings above the windows are still well-preserved, although the murals on the lower parts of the walls between the windows have faded and been plastered over.
🙏 The ancient mural paintings depict stories from the Buddha's life and the Ramakien without any additional decorations.
📚 The Fine Arts Department has registered the ordination hall for conservation.
