Phuket's first Buddhist temple
Today, Thailand is on fire🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Also take advantage of the heat, take out the photos taken before and share a few groups with everyone.
Speaking of traveling to Thailand, Phuket Island is indispensable. Phuket Island. It is a famous tourist holy land in southern Thailand. Experts should have been there more than once. The first project of sightseeing tourism is to pay homage to the temple. In this country where everyone believes in Buddha and there are temples everywhere, Chalong Temple is the first choice according to the ranking. Especially in the Chinese circle, this thousand-year-old temple is well-known to everyone.
The oldest temple on Phuket Island
One of Thailand's most famous Buddhist temples
Chalong Temple~ Phuket's first Buddhist temple without a doubt
Chalong Temple is the largest Buddhist temple on Phuket Island in terms of ranking and scale.
Chalong Temple, the most famous building is a 61.4-meter-high pagoda, which contains the relics of Phra Borom Sareerikatat, which is a piece of Buddha bone brought from Sri Lanka. The temple enshrines two statues of monks respected by people. Among them, the monk Luang Pu Cheng was the abbot of this temple at the beginning of this century. His bone-setting skills are quite famous. He was once awarded the title of special priesthood. Among the temples in Phuket, the incense here is the most prosperous. The Buddha Hall enshrining 108 golden Buddhas leaves a deep impression on people. This pagoda combines the architectural styles of southern, central and northeastern Thailand, and is the first place in the region to collect this relic.
What is particularly worth mentioning is that due to legal restrictions, coupled with the fact that Thai temples often set off firecrackers, only Phuket Island has become the only exception in the country. Because there are many Chinese immigrants, the firecrackers during the New Year and holidays can only be heard on Phuket Island. Chalong Temple is one of the temples that allow locals to set off firecrackers.
Detailed address. Located in Chalong Bay in the south-central part of Phuket Island, 8 kilometers from Phuket Town, a 25-minute drive.
🕙Business hours: all day
⏳Play time: 1-2 hours

You've come to Phuket Island, but you don't know about Wat Chalong? Look here!
If you've come to Phuket Island and don't know about Wat Chalong, that's really a pity. Wat Chalong is the largest temple on Phuket Island. Although it's a temple, it's also a tourist attraction. You don't necessarily have to burn incense and worship Buddha when you go to the temple. Just take some photos outside and check in.
A different experience and feeling. There is also a Big Buddha near Wat Chalong, which is the largest Big Buddha on Phuket Island. Near the Big Buddha, you can experience off-road quad biking, and elephant riding and feeding activities. They are also very good.

Chalong Temple | Beautiful, this temple is too great
🕍Chalong Temple, the largest Buddhist temple on Phuket Island, combines the architectural styles of southern, central and northeastern Thailand, it's beautiful, regret not taking a Thai costume photo!
✅【About Chalong Temple】
The main hall of Chalong Temple has three monk statues. In addition to making and fulfilling vows, believers will also stick gold foil on the monk statues.
Climbing up to the highest pagoda, you can overlook the entire Chalong Temple. On the third floor of the pagoda, the Buddha's relics are enshrined, which is very worth seeing.
✅【About Buddhism and Prayers】
The Buddhism practiced in China is Mahayana Buddhism, and the Buddhism practiced in Thailand is Theravada Buddhism. Mahayana Buddhism focuses on the afterlife, while Theravada Buddhism focuses on the present.
If the wish comes true, you have to come here to fulfill it, so unless you often come to Phuket, you must make a big wish!
✅【About Taking Photos】
5+ buildings of different styles, each with its own characteristics, grand and gorgeous.
The favorite is the one with the pink roof, like a lotus out of water, charming and attractive.
If you are not in a hurry, you must come to take a Thai costume photo, it's really too matching! Taking portraits, both in front of the building and on the steps are like coming out of a picture, the beauty of architectural details is also exquisite and gorgeous.
📌Tips: You need to wear long sleeves and trousers to enter the temple, and you must take off your shoes. If the dress is not appropriate, there are shawls at the entrance for tourists to use.

Phuket's Majestic Temple Complex
#weekendgetaways
Think of Thailand, think of ornate historical temples, decorated in yellow and gold, immaculately maintained architecture and features.
In Phuket, one must see the Wat Chalong (known locally as Wat Chaithararam) complex - a vast area of temples, holy sites, galleries, and an operational monastery!
The original temple, Wat Chaithararam, is believed to have been built in 1837, with the other buildings in the complex built much later. Apart from its majestic look, this complex features many relics and pilmigrage sites. The tallest building, with a 60m tall stupa (spire), features a bone relic of Lord Buddha on its top floor. From there, the view is spectacular - you can see extensive parts of Phuket on a clear day.
There is also a shrine dedicated to famous and venerable monks for people to make offerings. Likewise, an air conditioned museum replicates the original home in which 3 revered monks used to live in.
From time to time, you'll hear firecrackers go off - if someone's wishes made at this complex came true, they'll come back to set firecrackers off as a tribute!
One can easily spend hours here, so I recommend coming early. The complex is huge with many places of interest and historical significance. Bear in mind this isn't the beach, so dress modestly (cover your knees and shoulders) and remove hats when entering sheltered places.
Entry is free but do feel free to make donations!

Wat Chalong (Wat Chaithararam) in Thailand
Wat Chalong, the largest, most revered and most visited Buddhist temple in Phuket. Its intricate architecture and vibrant colors immerse visitors in Thai culture.
The temple's serene atmosphere invites contemplation, while the ornate details and sacred artifacts tell stories of tradition. Despite the occasional crowds, the place exudes a sense of calm. The grand pagoda stands tall, a symbol of devotion and history. Whether you seek solace or cultural enrichment, Wat Chalong delivers both. A must-visit for those intrigued by Buddhism and the island's heritage.
Wat Chalong Temple is at least 150 years old. Wat Chalong temple looks a lot like a fairytale palace (by the way, the residence actually has the so-called royal status)

Walking Around Wat Chalong in Phuket City 🐉🐲
#citywalk
In the City of Phuket Thailand, there are numerous buddhist temples but the one that is famous and highly visited by both locals and tourists would be the Wat Chalong Temple. Take a walk here and set foot on religious holy ground at Wat Chalong. You would be swept by a sense of calmness and peacefulness as you leisurely stroll along this magnificent place.
The wat chalong temple is a majestic place of worship as it's building and many Buddha statues are decked in gold. Many worshippers are here to give offerings or to pray so there are strict temple rules that you need to follow. Do take note if you intend to visit. For instance, ladies are not allowed to wear shorts/dresses/skirts above the kneecap or revealing clothes. Shoes must be removed before entering the temple too. If you climbed the stairs up all the way to the top of the temple, you will get to see the lovely view surrounding the temple. All in all, Wat Chalong is a great place to visit and have a temple walk in Phuket City.

Magnificent Wat Chalong Temple in Phuket
Wat Chalong is the largest temple in Phuket. It's free admission. During our visit, there weren't many tourists. The temple was stunningly beautiful. There was a famous monk Luang Phor Chaem, who is believed to have healing powers. Many locals and tourists came here to pay respect to him. We also visited the Grand Pagoda in the temple, we were told that there is a splinter of Buddha's bone at the top. The weather was very hot, please do not wear shorts, or remember to bring a scarf to cover up, otherwise you may not be allowed to enter the temple.

Vibrant & Colorful - Wat Chalong
This one is a must visit for a clear, sunny day. The temple grounds are pristine, and the air is occasionally filled with that temple incense we all (okay fine, some of us) love and appreciate.
To experience those sweet aromas be prepared to first duck in horror from the random blast of fire crackers from which said fumes exude. “Horror” of course is an exaggeration, but with great colorful temples, comes… great colorful writing?
Visit the place, experience what I’m talking about… Someone did duck though.
None of this is to say the grounds aren’t peaceful, they are, you’ll even see a cat or two basking in the sun, yawning. It’s a nice place: beautiful from the inside-out.
To enter the temple take off your shoes, lower your voices, and of course be mindful of those who are there to pray. Refreshments, souvenirs and bathrooms are available nearby, as are various transport options. Enjoy.

Chalong Temple - Phuket
Chalong Temple (also called Wat Chalong), was built at the beginning of the 19th century, it is the biggest and the most visited Buddhist temple in Phuket.
Chalong Temple is located not far from Big Buddha so they can be combined. Numerous temples and gardens however not all were open while visiting but you can take beautiful photos and immerse yourself into the Thai culture and religion, another great thing to do while in Phuket.
There is minimal shade, so bring a hat or an umbrella to block the sun. Also, women must cover their shoulders and not wear skirts or cutoff shorts or they cannot go inside the temples. Men must wear pants and cannot wear shorts inside the temple.

If you are looking for a place of interest, I would recommend Wat Chat Long Temple as one of them!
What I enjoyed from the visit is the view of the inner and outer of the temple. The design is grand and colourful that will make it into your memories! Also, the higher you go inside the temple, you will get to see the view around the temple.
When you visit, just note that in order for you to go inside the temple, revealing clothes are not allowed. But no worries that they do have something to lend you to cover your revealing part.

Phuket Must-Visit Attractions - Big Buddha and Chalong Temple Half-Day Tour
Phuket's Big Buddha and Chalong Temple are major attractions on the island, located in the Kata area. Although there is no charge for entering the temple to worship, it is important to dress respectfully; sleeveless tops and shorts are not allowed unless they reach the knees, otherwise entry is denied. The Big Buddha is on the highest hill on the island and can be seen from afar. There is no public transportation available, so if you're not on a tour or driving yourself, taking a taxi is not expensive. The view of the coast and the flat houses from a distance is beautiful and refreshing. Walking around the Big Buddha takes just over an hour. If you're interested in elephant riding, off-road forest vehicles, or taking photos with tigers, all these activities are available along this road.
Next, visit the nearby Chalong Temple, where, in addition to the main temple, there are several smaller temples scattered around, some of which are still under construction. Shoes must be removed outside the main temple before entering, and you can go up to the third floor. Despite the hot weather, it is quite cool on the third floor. The interior is decorated with dazzling gold, and you can worship inside the temple where there are not too many tourists.

🏝 Spending two days at sea in Phuket, the white beaches and the clear emerald waters are unforgettable. Besides sailing, there are many other ways to enjoy Phuket!
1️⃣ Phuket Town
Phuket Town, a place almost everyone visits when they come to Phuket because it's just so picturesque! The colorful impression of Phuket comes from here. Colorful buildings, graffiti walls, full of artistic sense.
2️⃣ Wat Chalong
Each building in Wat Chalong is different, and my favorite is the one with white walls and pink tiles, bursting with girlish charm! Each of the others has its own character and is also very suitable for taking photos.
3️⃣ Hanuman World
Phuket's popular jungle zipline, with a total of 32 stations, and options for 18 or 10 stations, is exciting and fun. There are staff at each station, and they can speak Chinese.
4️⃣ Fairy Peninsula
The Fairy Peninsula is the ultimate place to watch the sunset! In the evening, spend two hours here, sitting on the seaside fence watching the sunset, it's a very relaxing moment.
5️⃣ Rawai Seafood Market
When you're in Phuket, you must have a seafood meal! After selecting seafood at Rawai Seafood Market, just take it to the processing shop across the street for simple cooking, and it turns into delicious dishes! After the meal, taking a walk and snapping photos on the bridge at the intersection is the right way to open up the experience!

What to do in Phuket without going into the sea
I got hurt on the first day out at sea, and I suffered from both seasickness and sunburn, while my son had non-stop diarrhea and lost his appetite. In the morning, we bought some anti-diarrheal medicine from the nearby pharmacy. After my son took his medicine, around 10:30 am, we drove to Wat Chalong. We weren't there to pray or worship, just to look at the architecture and get a feel for the local culture. Thai temples have a somewhat European feel to them, resembling churches from the outside, adorned with Thai gold, looking quite luxurious. Since we neither believe nor worship, we left after a brief visit and headed to Phuket Town for lunch.
After lunch, we strolled around the old streets of Phuket Town. The houses have a Portuguese style, colorful and particularly suitable for street photography. I took photos of my son, and he took photos of me, the best partners on a trip. I didn't buy anything here, feeling that nowadays you can find everything in China, so there's no need to haul big and small packages from abroad.
Finally, we arrived at the mangrove celebrity cafe, which is right next to the hotel. This cafe is actually privately owned by the hotel. Compared to the Patong Beach where I stayed, this place is indeed much more peaceful. There are hardly any people on the beach, and it's not suitable for swimming, with many small floating plants on the water, which I couldn't identify. I sat in the open-air area, enjoying the sea breeze and drinking juice, while my son played in the sand under the sun. I can't understand why children love to dig in the sand so much; it's a puzzling pleasure.

Phuket Chalong Temple, a dazzling journey of splendor
Going to Phuket Chalong Temple, you can experience the charm of Thai temples. The transportation here is convenient, you can drive or take a bus to get there. The temple is free to enter, but you need to take off your shoes and pay attention to your dress.
The temple is famous for its 108 golden Buddhas and murals. Standing at a high place, you can overlook the panorama, and the beauty of the golden splendor is amazing. Be aware that firecrackers may suddenly be set off to avoid being frightened.
The temple is large, and you can continue to wait for the bus to return after visiting. If there are many people, you can consider taking a taxi back. At Chalong Temple, you can feel the unique temple culture of Phuket. Be sure to check out its stunning and magnificent architectural art.
