Wat Chai Thararam (Wat Chalong), Phuket.
🛕 Wat Chalong is a sacred and ancient temple that has been a cornerstone of the Phuket community for a long time. It was famously led by Luang Por Cham, who was renowned for his healing abilities and great compassion. Although he passed away over a hundred years ago, his reputation and virtues remain in the memories of the people and continue to be a spiritual refuge, especially for the residents of Phuket to this day.
There is a story that Luang Por Cham led the villagers in fighting against the Chinese rebels (Ang Yi) who were causing trouble and attempting to take over Phuket. He distributed protective talismans to the villagers to safeguard them and boost their morale, leading to their victory. King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) learned of this and bestowed upon Luang Por Cham the ecclesiastical title of "Phra Kru Wisutwongsajarnyanmuni," making him the highest-ranking monk in Phuket at that time. The temple was also renamed from Wat Chalong to Wat Chai Thararam. Additionally, Phra Kru Wisutwongsajarnyanmuni (Cham) was granted a ceremonial fan of rank equivalent to that of a high-ranking monk.
Luang Por Cham passed away in 1908, and upon his death, it was found that he had only 50 coins left. His funeral was the grandest ever held in Phuket, and possibly the entire southern region.

The Largest, Most Honored & Most Visited Buddhist Temple in Phuket🇹🇭✨
#solotrip
This time i visited the most beautiful temple in Phuket; Wat Chalong. The actual name of Wat Chalong is Wat Chaiyathararam.
It was built at the beginning of the nineteenth century and is dedicated to two highly venerable monks, Luang Pho Chaem and Luang Cho Chuang, who led the locals against an uprising by Chinese tin miners in 1876.
The temple is built in the traditional style, with several buildings surrounding a five-story high main structure, all housed in the same compound.
One of the Wat Chalong's halls displays a gilt-covered statue of Luang Poh Cham. It also contains the statues of Luang Poh Chuang and Luang Poh Gleum, who were the temple's ex-abbots. The grand pagoda dominating Wat Chalong is reputed to contain a splinter of Lord Buddha's bone.
Women are required to cover their shoulders and wear pants or skirts that extend down to their knees. Certain level of respect is expected, Speak in a quiet tone within the temple and don't touch the statues or other Buddhist relics.

I visited Wat Chalong in Phuket, Thailand, and it was an amazing experience. The temple is astonishing with its beautiful Buddhist details and the serenity that dominates the place. I enjoyed walking through the courtyard and listening to the sounds of prayer and meditation. I felt a sense of tranquility and spirituality in this sacred place. I lit candles and made a donation to the temple. I learned about Buddhist beliefs and traditions and was inspired by the peace and balance they promote. Phuket's first Buddhist temple
Today, Thailand is on fire🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Also take advantage of the heat, take out the photos taken before and share a few groups with everyone.
Speaking of traveling to Thailand, Phuket Island is indispensable. Phuket Island. It is a famous tourist holy land in southern Thailand. Experts should have been there more than once. The first project of sightseeing tourism is to pay homage to the temple. In this country where everyone believes in Buddha and there are temples everywhere, Chalong Temple is the first choice according to the ranking. Especially in the Chinese circle, this thousand-year-old temple is well-known to everyone.
The oldest temple on Phuket Island
One of Thailand's most famous Buddhist temples
Chalong Temple~ Phuket's first Buddhist temple without a doubt
Chalong Temple is the largest Buddhist temple on Phuket Island in terms of ranking and scale.
Chalong Temple, the most famous building is a 61.4-meter-high pagoda, which contains the relics of Phra Borom Sareerikatat, which is a piece of Buddha bone brought from Sri Lanka. The temple enshrines two statues of monks respected by people. Among them, the monk Luang Pu Cheng was the abbot of this temple at the beginning of this century. His bone-setting skills are quite famous. He was once awarded the title of special priesthood. Among the temples in Phuket, the incense here is the most prosperous. The Buddha Hall enshrining 108 golden Buddhas leaves a deep impression on people. This pagoda combines the architectural styles of southern, central and northeastern Thailand, and is the first place in the region to collect this relic.
What is particularly worth mentioning is that due to legal restrictions, coupled with the fact that Thai temples often set off firecrackers, only Phuket Island has become the only exception in the country. Because there are many Chinese immigrants, the firecrackers during the New Year and holidays can only be heard on Phuket Island. Chalong Temple is one of the temples that allow locals to set off firecrackers.
Detailed address. Located in Chalong Bay in the south-central part of Phuket Island, 8 kilometers from Phuket Town, a 25-minute drive.
🕙Business hours: all day

The main hall of Chalong Temple has three monk statues. In addition to making and fulfilling vows, believers will also stick gold foil on the monk statues.
Climbing up to the highest pagoda, you can overlook the entire Chalong Temple. On the third floor of the pagoda, the Buddha's relics are enshrined, which is very worth seeing.

Phuket's Majestic Temple Complex
#weekendgetaways
Think of Thailand, think of ornate historical temples, decorated in yellow and gold, immaculately maintained architecture and features.
In Phuket, one must see the Wat Chalong (known locally as Wat Chaithararam) complex - a vast area of temples, holy sites, galleries, and an operational monastery!
The original temple, Wat Chaithararam, is believed to have been built in 1837, with the other buildings in the complex built much later. Apart from its majestic look, this complex features many relics and pilmigrage sites. The tallest building, with a 60m tall stupa (spire), features a bone relic of Lord Buddha on its top floor. From there, the view is spectacular - you can see extensive parts of Phuket on a clear day.
There is also a shrine dedicated to famous and venerable monks for people to make offerings. Likewise, an air conditioned museum replicates the original home in which 3 revered monks used to live in.
From time to time, you'll hear firecrackers go off - if someone's wishes made at this complex came true, they'll come back to set firecrackers off as a tribute!
One can easily spend hours here, so I recommend coming early. The complex is huge with many places of interest and historical significance. Bear in mind this isn't the beach, so dress modestly (cover your knees and shoulders) and remove hats when entering sheltered places.
Entry is free but do feel free to make donations!

Walking Around Wat Chalong in Phuket City 🐉🐲
#citywalk
In the City of Phuket Thailand, there are numerous buddhist temples but the one that is famous and highly visited by both locals and tourists would be the Wat Chalong Temple. Take a walk here and set foot on religious holy ground at Wat Chalong. You would be swept by a sense of calmness and peacefulness as you leisurely stroll along this magnificent place.
The wat chalong temple is a majestic place of worship as it's building and many Buddha statues are decked in gold. Many worshippers are here to give offerings or to pray so there are strict temple rules that you need to follow. Do take note if you intend to visit. For instance, ladies are not allowed to wear shorts/dresses/skirts above the kneecap or revealing clothes. Shoes must be removed before entering the temple too. If you climbed the stairs up all the way to the top of the temple, you will get to see the lovely view surrounding the temple. All in all, Wat Chalong is a great place to visit and have a temple walk in Phuket City.

Chalong Temple - Phuket
Chalong Temple (also called Wat Chalong), was built at the beginning of the 19th century, it is the biggest and the most visited Buddhist temple in Phuket.
Chalong Temple is located not far from Big Buddha so they can be combined. Numerous temples and gardens however not all were open while visiting but you can take beautiful photos and immerse yourself into the Thai culture and religion, another great thing to do while in Phuket.
There is minimal shade, so bring a hat or an umbrella to block the sun. Also, women must cover their shoulders and not wear skirts or cutoff shorts or they cannot go inside the temples. Men must wear pants and cannot wear shorts inside the temple.

If you are looking for a place of interest, I would recommend Wat Chat Long Temple as one of them!

#100WaysOfTravel
My initial plan was to visit The Big Buddha, but it is now closed due to the landslide. But I did not regret coming all the way up here; the view and atmosphere were breathtaking. Immerse yourself in the sky and sea, believing that you are still alive, breathe fresh air, and enjoy a cup of Thai Milk Tea, which makes me as happy as ever!
On the way downhill, stop by Wat Chalong, also known as Chaithararam Temple. As the largest and most revered Buddhist temple on the island, it provides a glimpse into Thailand's rich religious and cultural heritage. From the moment I stepped in, a sense of peace and tranquility pervades the grounds. There’ll be a lots of praying, offering incense, and participating in Buddhist rituals.
Perhaps the visit to this temple was inspired by the sunset or by my desire for a peaceful escape from my inner self, it has left a lasting impression till now.#BigBuddhaPhuket #WatChalong #Peace

Shopping: Avoid falling into the trap of consumerism. Think before you buy and shop rationally. Prices at 711 are not always the cheapest. In addition, many Thai people understand Chinese, so you can bargain boldly when shopping.
VII. Health and Safety
It is recommended to bring your regular medication, such as anti-inflammatory drugs, to prevent water and soil discomfort or heatstroke.
Pay attention to the indoor air conditioning temperature and avoid direct blowing or staying in a cold room for a long time.
When going out at night, pay attention to personal and property safety. It is recommended not to go out after 10pm.
