Getting there is very easy. Just take the bus to Kanchanaburi and rent a scooter there. it takes only 20 minutes to drive to the Wat Ban Tham Cave. From Bangkok you can reach thus destination within two and a half hours.
This Cave is one of the most underrated Caves i have ever been to. First you walk up steep stairs to a platform where you step into the dragons mouth and than you continue to step up inside the dragons buddy until you reach the beautiful caves. This is not an easy hike because the end of the hike is all the way at the golden mount at the top.

Visit the Heavenly Dragon Cave, Ban Tham Temple, Kanchanaburi
Wat Ban Tham is located in Khao Noi Subdistrict, Tha Muang District, Kanchanaburi Province. It is an ancient temple from the Sukhothai period. The back of the temple is connected to the mountain and the front to the Mae Klong River. There is a beach in front of the temple. The mountain where the cave is located is about 200 meters high. This mountain is a single mountain range with many peaks in a row. To the northwest, the end of the mountain is Khao Laem and Khao Tok Tham Mangkon Thong. To go up the cave, you have to climb 269 steps, starting from the head of the Naga to the dragon's head, a total of 114 steps, and from the mouth of the dragon to the tail, 105 steps. Walk into the cave 50 steps. Inside the cave, there is Luang Pho Phra Chinnarat (Luang Pho Yai) in the cave of the Dragon Cave. The view from the top of the mountain here is very beautiful.

Wat Ban Tham, Kanchanaburi, worship Buddha and see beautiful caves
Wat Ban Tham is another temple that you should visit if you visit Kanchanaburi. This temple has been important since ancient times, since the middle Ayutthaya period. There are ancient sites in the temple. There is a beautiful pagoda on the top of the mountain, which enshrines Luang Pho Yai. If you have enough energy, I recommend climbing the mountain to pay homage. The way up is convenient, with easy-to-walk steps. Walk through the dragon's belly into the cave, which looks very sacred. The stairs may be a bit steep, so it is suitable for people with enough energy. It is highly recommended for the elderly. You can only walk up the first part of the cave, which is okay. It is not too high. You should not go all the way to the top of the pagoda. Around the pagoda, pottery from the Ayutthaya period was also found.
At the top of the cave, if you look down, you will see a beautiful view of the Mae Klong River as far as the eye can see. I recommend going in the evening, when the view is very beautiful.

Ban Tham Temple
Wat Ban Tham, Kanchanaburi Province
🙏A beautiful temple in Kanchanaburi that is uniquely outstanding. There are more than 269 steps leading up to the cave, with patterns of nagas and dragons. There are 114 steps from the nagas to the dragon, and another 105 steps from the dragon's tail into the cave.
🐲Tham Khuha Mangkon Sawan or Tham Nang Bua Kli, where Luang Pho Yai Chinnarat is enshrined, but locals generally call it Luang Pho Yai. It is 8 cubits wide and 11 cubits high. Behind Luang Pho Yai, there is a large hollow in the rock. The wall has been sealed for a long time until it became a single piece of rock. People in the past said that it was a passageway to the underground of Luang Pho who came to live during the Sukhothai period.
👩💼There is a stalagmite that looks like a woman, which is believed to be Nang Bua Kli or Khun Phaen's wife, the wife of Khun Phaen who had her belly cut open to make a golden child in the epic poem Khun Chang Khun Phaen.
