[2025 New York Attraction] Travel Guide for Washington Square Park (Updated Apr)

A must-visit spot in NY, in my opinion, is New York University. If you can also visit one of the most famous parks, Washington Square Park, that would be fantastic 🥰. It's a major landmark in Manhattan's Greenwich Village, with the most iconic feature being the commemorative arch inspired by the Arc de Triomphe in France! 🌟 The permanent marble arch in Washington Square was built in 1888 to celebrate the centennial of George Washington's inauguration as President of the United States. Located on Fifth Avenue at the north side of the park, it was designed by a local New York architect who took inspiration from the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. It's really beautiful when the weather is nice. 🌟 Many of the buildings nearby belong to New York University (NYU), integrating the campus into this world-class metropolis. Students can fully utilize the city's resources both inside and outside the classroom, seamlessly combining academics with practical experience. Studying here must be a blessing. Walking around this area is really pleasant and chill 💕. 🗽 There's an NYU bookstore nearby where I initially wanted to buy a hat. The store sells a variety of products from different brands. However, I realized I didn't have much attachment to the school, so I ended this brief visit 🤣

Tidal Basin attracts people from all over the world to admire the cherry blossoms, bustling with activity. If you want to avoid the crowds and take quiet photos, you might as well come to the cherry blossom avenue next door! 📸 🌸This cherry blossom avenue is right next to the Tide Lake. After strolling around the lake, it takes about 15 minutes to get there. Rather than an avenue, it's actually a loop. Driving slowly under the cherry blossom trees on the green grass and blue sky and water, circling around half of a small island, feeling the cherry blossom rain. 🌸These days, there are a lot of people and cars, and it's hard to find a parking spot in nearby parking lots. If you can wake up early, you can try parking at this free parking spot on Ohio Dr SW, Washington, DC. If you come late, the road will be very congested, so you can choose to take the subway instead if you don't want to get stuck in traffic. 🌸In the morning when you come to appreciate the flowers, you will encounter many people who come here for morning runs and bike rides. With the blooming cherry blossom tunnel, it's really easy to take great photos. The grass on both sides of the road is also well trimmed, and you can easily take photos with the surrounding cherry blossoms by standing on the grass. Photo time ⏰ 🌸You can come to take photos on cloudy or sunny days. The light on cloudy days is very soft, making the overall picture cleaner. The cherry blossom tunnel on sunny days is more Japanese-style, with strong color contrast and a brighter and more brilliant picture. Washington Square Park is always so lively. It is a popular meeting place for not only the NYU students nearby but also many New Yorkers. From far away, you will be greeted by the impressive Washington Square Arch. Take your time to look up the Arch and admire its beautiful design and sculpture. The Arch was built to commemorate the centennial of George Washington’s 1789 inauguration as US President. The fountain takes the centre stage and many activities happen around it. However, if you walk around the park, you can also see chess players showing their skills, people training their dogs or kids playing in the playground. There are so many parks in New York Among them, there is Washington Square Park, which I visited twice because it was so good. It is small, but many people visit, so it has a lively atmosphere and there are also quiet benches on one side. More and more I start caring about taking photos of buildings, monuments, and places 🏙 Because a lot of locations in cities, just like Hudson Yards picture in the second photo, change over the years. Buildings get built, destroyed, and replaced. Photos and Videos are incredible tools to expand our memories. In 20 years time I will be looking back at some of the best shots I have taken and telling myself how these places changed drastically, how views used to be different, just as people and humanity evolves. The skyscrapers today, overshadow buildings from yesterday, and will seem small compared to the megastructures pf tomorrow. I will keep these photos as special memories 🙏🏼

Visiting Washington Square Park in New York was fantastic and enjoyable. The park is one of the most important tourist attractions in the city because it hosts many exciting activities and events. We enjoyed its beautiful ambiance and the greenery and blooming trees. We also enjoyed watching the local artists and musicians perform wonderfully. We toured the famous fountain and enjoyed the splendid views of the surrounding buildings. The park is full of life and movement, and it was an unforgettable experience. We recommend it to everyone visiting New York.
