The memorial park is very spacious, with many grassy areas where you can sit on the ground and have a picnic. There are many people exercising nearby in the morning, and the scenery overlooking the nearby buildings is very good. During the summer holidays, vendors in front of the museum sell ice cream, drinks and hot dogs. There are many places to sit when you walk to the monument. It may be hot in summer, so you need to find a cool place to sit. Since the park is about 3 kilometers from the monument, it is recommended to wear a pair of shoes that are easier to walk on.

#WinterTravel This trip… invite you to walk and take pictures around the Washington Monument. It is located between The Capitol and the Lincoln Memorial. It was built in 1848 but was officially opened on October 9, 1888. We didn't go inside because it was getting dark and we still had to go to the Lincoln Memorial. This time, we only took pictures of the cold atmosphere around the monument instead. Free admission. Opening hours: 09:00-17:00. Free tickets are given out on a first-come, first-served basis at 08:45. Inside, it takes 70 seconds to take the elevator from the ground floor to the observation deck, which is 500 feet high.
