Wanshou Temple, also known as Jingshan Temple, was built in the Zhonghe period of the Tang Dynasty (881-884). Song Jiatai was changed to "Miaojue Temple". Ningzong (1195-1224) of the Southern Song Dynasty established the higher level of the national Zen temples as "Five Mountains and Ten Temples", and Wanshou Temple ranked second among the ten temples. At the end of the Yuan Dynasty, Wanshou Temple was destroyed by fire. Monk Zhengyin advised to recruit for reconstruction. It was built in the first year of Yuan Zhishun (1330). After several winds and frosts, the original appearance of Wanshou Temple has been blurred, and now we are presented with the whole building that has been reconstructed successively from the 1980s to the present. It is magnificent and solemn. It was rebuilt in the 1980s. During the prosperous Tang Dynasty, Jingshan Temple had thousands of palaces and pavilions, more than 3,000 monks, and was the head of the five mountains and ten temples in the south of the Yangtze River.
