Mushroom Jun's European Travel
Belgium, Dinant City
Dinan City in the Alpine Region of southern Belgium, Citadelle Castle is built on a hill, located on a cliff up to 100 meters, overlooking The Meuse River passes through the town.
Overlooking the town, we met the owner of the castle, Baron Marc de Villenfagne. This may be one of my contacts with the European nobility. The first feeling is:
The baron is very kind and has a long leg.
The Baron led us to visit his castle, such as the fully automatic cable car built by his father, which is rare in all of Belgium; the armory, underground bunkers and cannons inside the castle; Dinan Cathedral below.
Because Citadelle Castle is very famous, it was requested by the government to open to the public. As the owner of the castle, the baron also has a responsibility to introduce the history of Dinant to the delegations of various countries. For the nobility, the greater the ability, the greater the responsibility.
Privately asked the baron a question, "Where do you go if you bring friends to play Dinant?" The baron recommended a Chateau de Veves, which is full of memories of his childhood.
Drive to the sunset and the fallen leaves, the castle seems to be coated with a golden light. It opens every weekend from March to November and opens every day from July 15th to August 31st. If you arrive in Dinant, remember to check it out.
