The hotel was designed by the renowned interior design studio AB Concept, inspired by the winding Benagil Sea Cave, with a flowing design in blue throughout. The clever combination of sea blue and turquoise complements the blue sky and the vast Atlantic Ocean outside the window, as if bringing the grandeur of the sea into the room. The unique passage at the entrance is inspired by ancient folklore, with flowing curves decorated with countless mirrors and Portuguese handmade ceramic tiles. These ceramic tiles, produced by Vista Alegre, a company with a history of nearly 200 years, are combined in an abstract and casual way, instantly bringing guests into a mysterious and elegant underwater world.
Step into the vibrant W Lounge, where the central "wave" art installation made of glass panels becomes the visual focus, inspired by Moorish jewelry and ocean foam, with colorful transformations that are captivating. One side of the lounge faces the terrace, allowing natural light to pour in, creating a sense of transparency that connects the indoors and outdoors. The charming bar is decorated with custom Moorish-style tiles, paired with uniquely shaped hand-blown glass chandeliers, and a 20-meter-long onyx bar extends to the outdoor terrace, complementing the surrounding water features and garden scenery, making you feel like you are in a beautiful painting.
The design of the rooms is avant-garde yet elegant, with the strong colors of natural light and materials colliding to create a harmonious beauty. Custom furniture is filled with intricate local elements, such as filigree bedside lamps, dramatic backlit headboards, and authentic Algarve tile mosaics. The glass panels separating the bedroom and bathroom are printed with crochet patterns, and when the bathroom lights are on, the patterns are projected onto the bedroom floor, adding an exotic touch to the space. All rooms have private balconies, and 10 surprise suites also have rooftop terraces with spectacular coastal views, allowing guests to fully enjoy the gifts of nature.
The hotel's dining is equally impressive. Located on the top floor, Paper Moon is a sister restaurant to the famous Milan restaurant, with a stylish and elegant white color scheme, a bright and open interior, seamlessly connecting the indoors and outdoors. The WET pool terrace is a signature scene of the W brand, with cabanas surrounding the tiered pool, and the pool's edge overlooking the distant coastline, creating a stylish sunbathing space for guests. Market Kitchen creates a strong neighborhood atmosphere, with floors printed with traditional Portuguese Calçada patterns, Azulejos tiles, and classic local-style window decorations. The use of wooden floors, brick details, and shutters that bring the bright natural light of the fountain garden indoors convey a relaxed and rustic sense of joy.
The AWAY® Spa is inspired by local fishing decks, covering an area of 13,000 square feet, spacious and comfortable. It features 6 treatment rooms, including a couple's suite, a hair salon, a manicure and pedicure bar, and several quick service stations, as well as professional LED mask treatments. The spa's wet area includes a sauna, steam room, and hot tub, as well as a covered outdoor relaxation area. The beauty bar is a relaxed social space, with tiles on the ceiling that create a pattern rich in traditional Portuguese style.
