Conveniently located right next to the train station, you can easily drop off your luggage and start exploring. There's also a shopping mall nearby, making it super convenient! The hotel features a modern glass facade building with excellent views. You can enjoy stunning vistas of the distant mountains and fortress while dining in the restaurant, thanks to the large floor-to-ceiling windows. The room we stayed in had a comfortable double bed and a standard business layout, covering 24 square meters. The design is simple and natural with wooden furniture and shelves. The rate includes breakfast and costs €100, which is quite reasonable. Salzburg is bisected by a river, with famous attractions on both sides that are easily accessible on foot. It's a very pleasant place to explore and definitely worth a visit.

#JanuaryGoodPlaces2025 During the trip to Eastern Europe, we took a train from Vienna to Salzburg and stayed at a local family hotel "Hotel Hohenstauffen". Although the hotel building is old, it is decorated very warmly with a retro and strong Bohemian style. It takes you back to the atmosphere of medieval Europe in a second. The experience of staying there is very special. The front desk is a classic wooden table. The craftsmanship presented by the meticulous carving is amazing. The heavy metal keys are very substantial. It has been a long time since I have used a key other than a room card. The boss is very friendly, just like the aunt next door, welcoming guests to her home. Each room at Hotel Hohenstauffen is decorated differently, with wallpapers with small florals, retro bed frames, and antique wooden furniture, giving it a very nostalgic feel. Three people booked a single room and a twin room, which were about 4.5-6 square meters in size, for a total of €189. The room rate includes breakfast. The family-style breakfast is quite rich and delicious, and very warm. It includes bread, ham, cantaloupe, cheese, etc. Milk and juice are of course indispensable. The overall taste is much better than that of general modern chain hotels. The hotel is very close to Salzburg Railway Station, only a 10-minute walk away. 📍Mirabell Gardens: Mirabellplatz 3, 5020 Salzburg, Austria 🎫 Free admission ✅It was built by Archduke Wolf Dietrich in 1606 and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is said to mean breathtaking beauty, a compound word of the Italian word mirabile, meaning 'wonderful', and bella, meaning beautiful. 👉I really wanted to visit this place because it was the filming location for The Sound of Music. In the movie, they filmed a scene where Maria and the children danced and sang Do-Re-Mi around the Pegasus fountain in front of the palace. #EuropeTravel

I went to Salzburg to visit the holy sites of Sound of Music. Mirabell Palace, which appeared in the Do-Re-Mi song, is located here, overlooking Fortress Hohensalzburg. I have such strong feelings when I think that Julie and Charmian actually visited this place. There were tourists jumping up and down the stairs of Mirabell Palace just like in the movie, and I think that even after 60 years, it is still loved by people all over the world. The benches in the courtyard of Mirabell Palace were also comfortable, and I spent some time relaxing with some juice I bought at the supermarket. Access to Salzburg Airport is also good. It is also a small airport, so it is easy to use and you won't get lost.

The 57-day European trip that I had left alone without fear was coming to an end. Salzburg is an Austrian city on the border of Germany, with views of the Eastern Alps. It is the birthplace of famed composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and is dominated by churches, castles, and palaces. Its picturesque old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city is divided by the Salzach River, with medieval and baroque buildings of the pedestrian Altstadt (Old City) on its left bank, facing the 19th-century Neustadt (New City) on its right. Must-Sees in Salzburg is Hohensalzburg Fortress, Salzburg's landmark, Central Europe’s largest intact fortress and offers fantastic views of the city. Also a must see is Mozart's Geburtshaus, the place where the genial composer was born on January 27, 1756. South of Salzburg’s old town is the popular Hellbrunn Castle with the world-famous 'Wasserspiele' containing many ingenious trick fountains and water-powered figures. The Trapp family and The Sound of Music is inseparably linked with Salzburg. The famous gazebo can be found in the gardens of Hellbrunn Castle. It was used for both Maria and Georg's romantic love scene and the duet “Sixteen Going On Seventeen”. Salzburg is really such a gorgeous city well worth spending at least 3-4 days in order to explore all the attractions.

After my business trip to Germany, I went over to Salzburg Austria with my wife, colleague and a friend. I chose to book FourSide Hotel through Trip as it has many good reviews. We took the bus from the main station to the hotel. The surrounding was peaceful. When we went inside the hotel, we were captivated by the ambience. We were pleased with our room too as it was very comfortable. Finally, I wanna give a shoutout to the staff and bartender as they were very friendly and helpful.

It was always a wondering feeling when you travel to Europe as you can get to witness many beautiful historical structures. That's how I felt when we went to explore Schloss Mirabell when we travelled to Salzburg. The palace was built in 1606 and thus have a very rich history. We admired the majestic structure. The palace also have a beautiful park and the winter made the experience even greater.

St Sebastian's Cemetery is slightly smaller than St Peter's and opposite the river from the old town, but we quite enjoyed our time here as this place is more tranquil and less touristy than St Peter's. The most notable tombstone here belongs to the Mozart family (Wolfgang Mozart himself is buried in Vienna though), but it's still quite the experience to look through the different tombstones and note their design and age. Marvellous and rather creepy gothic cemetery tucked away behind St Sebastian's church. The entrance is a little hard to find. You go down the road below the church and turn in through a gateway effectively behind the church. There are some wonderful statues and gravestones. In the centre of the cemetery is the tomb of Prince-Archbishop Wolf Dietrich.

After seeing the Hohensalzburg Fortress, we walked directly over the hill and through small woods to the Möchsberg. The route with all sights takes about 1.5 hours. Numerous viewpoints lead to the Stadtalm, a small restaurant on the right side of the mountain in the direction of the old town. Then keep right and you end up directly at the Museum der Moderne and the Mönchsberg elevator, which we used to go back down. Very nice destination, even if the museums are closed. Great for a long walk. With its park, the fortresses, old walls and and and it's great to walk. And you are right next to the castle and can explore it at the same time. You also have a different great panorama from every corner, either the city or the mountains, just great. You can also find inns and snack bars here and there. I would absolutely recommend the Salzburg card. You have all entrances, elevators, castle railway with it.
