Even if it is an artificial lake it is worth going there. The views are spectacular. It doesn’t matter what kind of weather you have. (Photo 1&2)It is also a good place to relax and enjoy nature! Getting There - By highspeed train 1:50 hours from Shanghai There are two train stations close by: Qiandaohu (photo 6&7) and Jiande. The first one is closer to the lake about 23 km. From there you can either take a shuttle bus to all mayor hotels for CNY 15 or a taxi for CNY 50-70. When you book a hotel be careful where it is . Some locations are remote and there is not much around or you are in the middle of Chun’an (photo 3-5)- a small town where are parks, restaurants, shops but also some traffic. Attractions - 1. Boat tours on the lake 2. Meifeng Island 3. Qiandaohu Adventure Park 4. Tianyu Mountain 5. Beer Museum 6. Happy Water World Hotels - 1. 100 Island Lake Greentown Resort 5* which is on a small peninsula. Great views, sunsets, breakfast and rooms (photo 8-11) 2. When I reserved this hotel I hoped it will be what is was promised to be. However it was far above my expectations. We got a free room upgrading (photo 3-5) to a lake view room with balcony and the view is just gorgeous (photo 19). Having the member card I also got free use of the minibar (photo 6), a welcome gift for our baby and a glass of wine (photo 12) which I took on the terrace with this great view. Later they brought us fruits (photo 10) and sweets (photo 1). They also provide a shuttle to the hotel entrance. The breakfast selection is wide (photo 17-19) and we also had a delicious dinner at the restaurant (photo 14-16) No wonder this Voco hotel is amongst the top scenic hotels in Hangzhou! A wonderful place to relax! Please check it out. 🚄 Preparation: High-speed train: Depart from Shanghai Hongqiao Station and take a morning high-speed train to Qiandao Lake, which takes about 2 hours. I recommend the 10:50 am train, so you don't have to get up early. 🏨 Accommodation: • Qiandao Lake Voco Sunlight Hotel: Located in the central lake area of Qiandao Lake, close to Tianyu Mountain Scenic Area. I recommend a central lake view room, so you can see the lake view of Qiandao Lake when you open the window. 🌟 Day 1: 🚄10:51 am–12:40 pm Shanghai Hongqiao–Qiandao Lake Station 🚗12:50 am–1:20 pm Arrive at the hotel Take a taxi to the hotel to drop off your luggage and freshen up. The drive to the hotel takes about half an hour. 🥣1:30–2:30 pm Lunch You must have fish soup when you come to Qiandao Lake. I found a restaurant near the hotel, Shuibian Renjia. Their fish soup is fresh, and the stir-fried dishes are flavorful and have a good wok hei. ⛰️3:00–5:00 pm Tianyu Mountain This is a great spot to watch the sunset. The lane is small.
