Burrata Joy & Gustavo Lapasta, located at 30 E Coast Rd… The creamy white cheese was nestled on a bed of vibrant cherry tomatoes and drizzled with a generous amount of fragrant basil oil. The burrata itself was incredibly fresh and bursting with flavor, with a velvety texture that melted in my mouth. Every bite was a true delight, and I found myself savoring every moment. In addition to the burrata, I also tried some of their homemade pasta, which was equally impressive. The noodles were perfectly cooked and paired with a rich and flavorful tomato sauce. It was clear that the chefs at Burrata Joy & Gustavo Lapasta take pride in using the freshest and highest quality ingredients. Given the location, no surprise that the hotel went for the Peranakan theme. It was well executed and I loved the theme throughout the hotel (lobby, rooms and club lounge). Speaking of Club Lounge, the food was decent. The evening canapés were better than the breakfast though (in terms of taste, presentation and selection of food). The breakfast was truly underwhelming. Staff were great though, engaging in small talk, prompt in assisting orders, cleaning plates etc.. Finally, the pool was a circular shaped one, which is kind of nice to see but not that useful if you want to do laps. Pretty average, nothing much to shout about. #tripblazers #staycation

Positives - Large room (40 sq metres) with balcony - Large 55 inch Samsung TV - Very comfortable pillows - Fantastic sound insulation - Hotel staff were great (got complimentary upgrade to Peranakan Club Room from normal Club Room) - Free standing huge bathtub - Lovely Peranakan themed room Negatives - AC May be too strong for some (thermoset was the old school type then has no effect whatever setting changed) - Balcony bereft of table and chairs - Water took a couple of mins to become hot - Signs of wear and tear in the room - bathroom amenities were sub par. (no dedicated conditioner, conditioning shampoo left my wife’s hair very dry) - Free standing bathtub was outside the toilet (could be awkward/ too cold for some) #tripblazers #staycation

I recently stayed at the Village Hotel Katong by Far East Hospitality in Singapore, and I highly recommend it! 🌟 The hotel is conveniently located on Marine Parade Road, very close to the airport, making it super easy to get to. Not only is it close to the airport, but the surrounding area is also full of things to do. 🏖 The hotel is right next to East Coast Park, making it super convenient for a walk on the beach. There are also many shopping centers and restaurants nearby, so I always have a hard time deciding where to eat. The location is unbeatable, making it super convenient for both getting around and shopping. The hotel's decor is warm and retro, with a unique old Singapore flavor. 🏨 The front desk staff were very welcoming when I checked in, and I felt their thoughtfulness and attentiveness from the first minute. The hotel is well-equipped, and the rooms are clean and comfortable, making it a little paradise during my trip. Every day I came back to find my room spotless, which was very comforting. Now let's talk about the room experience. The room I stayed in was very spacious, and I especially liked the balcony design, where I could sunbathe and enjoy the beautiful city view. 🛏 The bed was super big and comfortable, and I had a good night's sleep every day. The room also had a separate work area and super-fast Wi-Fi, which kept my work schedule organized. The hotel also offers free laundry service, which is very thoughtful! Speaking of food, the hotel's breakfast is worth mentioning. 🍳🥐 There is a wide variety of fresh food available every day, and a full breakfast is a must before exploring Singapore! There are also many places to eat nearby, whether you're looking for local snacks or international cuisine. I personally love the supermarket across the street, which is open late at night, so I never have to worry about wanting to buy something. Here are a few more places to visit near the hotel. East Coast Park is definitely a great place to relax, especially for a walk in the morning or evening. 🚶‍♂️ The Cloud Forest and Singapore Flyer are also must-see attractions, and the 165-meter-high visual feast is not to be missed. Be sure to bring your camera to capture the moment. The nearby shopping centers are great for shopping and finding food, making my trip even more colorful. In short, the Village Hotel Katong by Far East Hospitality made my trip to Singapore truly unforgettable. It offers a comfortable living environment, warm service, and convenient transportation. Our lovely anniversary staycation at Village Hotel Katong. Thanks to the hotel staff allowing us to have early check in and late check out. Nice location with easy access to supermarkets and shopping malls. We will be back again! #staycation

Lovely ice cream and cheese cake time with the kids. This small shop called ree connect just at the mall by the hotel. Taste amazing with fresh concept of cheese cakes as well. East coast area is amazing, barely see tourist but very homely and it feels like its own bubble/ village. Room was clean and okay. With a mini balcony with great view! Room was equipped with fridge, ironing board, safe and toilet was huge! Awesome stay with polite front desk and staffs! Hotel was also near to alot of amenities and shopping mall was just across the hotel! Good people, good vibes and a wonderful stay! Great experience at Village Hotel Katong! The hotel itself is situated in the same building as Katong V. They had a Fairprice store (great for getting some groceries!), a few cafes and restaurants (highly recommend: Burrata Joy & Gustavo Lapasta) It is also walkable to cafes, bars and restaurants in the Katong neighbourhood. Very foodie friendly! Walking distance to i12 Katong as well. Although the building is slightly old, I believe they had renovated their rooms so they are clean and spacious. I was really lucky to have an upgrade to their Peranakan Club room - where there is a bathtub in the middle of the room! Huge plus points for couples 🥰 #valentinescape #couplestrip

As a regular customer at Plain Vanilla, I've grown accustomed to their $5 cappuccinos, but I've been looking for an alternative that offers a similar value without sacrificing quality. Group Therapy more than fits the bill. The cappuccinos at Group Therapy are just as delicious as those at Plain Vanilla, but the prices are as reasonable. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the cappuccinos at Group Therapy are actually just as good if not better. All in all, I'm thrilled to have finally found another alternative to my go-to coffee shop and I can't wait to visit Group Therapy at Katong V again in the future. I recently had the pleasure of trying the "Coconut Squares" at Yugoslavia Bakery & Cafe at Katong V, and I have to say, they were absolutely delicious! As soon as I saw them on the shelf, I knew I had to give them a try - and I'm so glad I did. Upon first glance, these coconut squares looked very similar to the popular Australian dessert called Lamington cake. They had a generous coating of creamy coconut flakes on the outside, and a moist, fluffy sponge cake on the inside. The squares were cut into the perfect size for a satisfying snack, and they were simply irresistible. As soon as I took a bite, I was struck by how rich and flavorful the coconut coating was. It had a subtle sweetness that complemented the light and fluffy cake perfectly. The combination of textures was also spot on - the crunchy coconut flakes provided a nice contrast to the soft sponge cake.
