[2025 Singapore Stay] Travel Guide for Village Hotel Bugis by Far East Hospitality (Updated May)

#mysgmemories Located at Golden Landmark and near Village Hotel Bugis, Limaa Cafe serves all day breakfast, pasta, açai and western food. I have been hearing good reviews about this cafe but have yet to try it because they close quite early, 5 pm on weekdays and 4 pm on Saturdays. Since it was my first time there, I tried their bestseller; rosti with salmon ($17) and Kacang Phool with beef ($10). The Kacang Phool was delicious and you can really taste the spice. As for the rosti, I was expecting more from it for the price I paid. If you’re dining there, please be patience as you might need to wait for a while if there is a crowd. The eating area is also limited and cosy.

Village Hotel Bugis 390 Victoria Street Singapore 188061 I’ve stayed at Village Hotel Bugis several times. The reason I keep coming back is because it is one of the affordable hotel around the area. Located right at Golden Landmark Shopping Centre, it is just 5 minutes away from Bugis MRT, Bugis Junction, Arab Street and more. The location is what attracts me to this hotel. My recent stay was in April and I received a cute Rainbow Cake from the team as it was my birthday. I managed to check in early and was really happy with my room. Even though the view wasn’t fantastic but I’m able to witness the sunset which is just wow. I can’t wait for the next sale to book this hotel! #singapore

#staycation Planning my Village Hotel Bugis staycation and I am here at another food stall again. It is always a gastronomy staycation for me to try out local eats and hawker centres around the hotel area. There are a few hawker centres around Village Hotel Bugis’s vicinity and I have tried out Albert Centre, Golden mile and Berseh Food centre. It was also because of the hawker vouchers given to every eligible Singaporean household and I used them during my staycation every week. This Turkish store is right at the corner from Zam Zam restaurant and they have the most authentic kebab. You can customise and even upsize it. I bought them for my supper back at Village Hotel Bugi.

I paid a good price for my staycation and got $40 Village Currency in return. I must thank Trip.com and Village Hotel Bugis for this wonderful discovery staycation package. I must admit with the Village Currency received, I will explore the vicinity and strategize on how to use my Village Currency more effectively. Moreover, it has a 3 month validity and I can take my time to spend it too.

#staycation Planning my Village Hotel Bugis staycation and I am here at Golden Landmark Shopping Centre to explore the popular shopping centres in the past. It is quiet and you can get pretty good bargains here too. You should also check out their see through glass elevator and it will land next to a water fountain. The shopping centre is still in good condition, clean and spacious but there are no crowds here. Since it is attached right next to Village Hotel Bugis, it has a great potential to be an integrated hotel and retail space. They just need a refurbishment to happen.

#staycation Planning my Village Hotel Bugis staycation and I am here at Raffles Hospital and it is a sanctuary. You can be a patient or a visitor and once you are here, you will feel protected and at peace. There is even an outdoor lobby with a waterfall and garden for you to breathe in fresh air. Most importantly, there are no mosquitoes here and you cannot hear the traffic from the main road. There are 2 main buildings here and you can use the linkbridge through the wards to cut through them. This hospital is conveniently located at Bugis and there is a MRT station exit right outside.

Their entrance to the staircase to level 2 is just right next to Zam Zam Restaurant, so you will not miss it. Once you get up to level 2, it is totally a new place with a nicely decorated theme and much daylight coming in from the outside. These pop up markets are a great place to discover new designers and you can get unique items too. Plus, it is also ok to ask for customization and you can personalise your items. If I am not in this area for my staycation, I would not have come across this pop up market.

#staycation Planning my Village Hotel Bugis staycation and I am here at Landmark Shopping. Before Village Hotel Bugis, it was formerly known as The Landmark Hotel in the 80s. This hotel is attached to a shopping centre, The Golden Landmark Shopping Centre and as of now, it is still operating. There is also a water fountain right outside here. The hotel and building designs were induced by the Arabic, Asian and Western for being in Kampong Glam. Along the way towards Village Hotel Bugis, you can find stores selling jewellery, baklava and clothes. There is not much of a crowd here. However, it is a great place to take a look at the interior designs inside this shopping centre. You might find some surprises here when you are on staycation.

#staycation Planning my Village Hotel Bugis staycation and I am here at The Landmark. I have no idea why the breakfast area is so much quieter than before. I was here during the pandemic whereby guests are not allowed to take their own food from the buffet table. That time the breakfast area was so crowded and had a long queue. Now in November, no queue and no crowd and most are not even locals. I think local staycations for the locals will be coming to an end. They have an egg station and the buffet counter is open for self service. I like the lontong, a malay rice dish. You can choose so sit indoor or outside for a campsite feeling.

You will get 1 night stay with breakfast and $30 village currency dining vouchers. It works like cash and you can use it at the restaurants and places listed for village currency. I was here last year and the selection of restaurants was lesser. Now they have expanded which is great news. So you can use one or multiple village currency to pay for your orders. These vouchers have a validity of 3 months and there are no restrictions. At the moment, if you post in your social media account on how you have used your village currency then you can receive an additional $10 voucher.

#staycation Planning my Village Hotel Bugis staycation and I am here at their deluxe room which has 32 sqm of space. I also have requested for their swimming pool view so I can look out from my window towards the Beach road area. This room type comes without a bathtub which is also easier for me. I can spend less time in the bathroom. The rooms with the bathtub are still not renovated So until then, I will choose the rooms without the bathtub. This hotel is old but they have kept their rooms and facilities pretty well. For their convenient location, they will continue to be popular with tourists.

#staycation Planning my Village Hotel Bugis staycation and I am here at theri lobby which is not on the ground floor. Once you enter, you will see two long escalators leading up to the lobby. The ceiling here is very high and there is a large chandelier in the lobby. You also can see the Village Kids area being set up for the school holidays. Previously, when I was here, they had balloons making sessions at their function room and all children could join for free. They also have children-themed family rooms here and so far I have not tried before. I prefer their regular deluxe rooms with a super king bed. The family themed rooms are slightly smaller so I did not try them.

The previous year, I booked a staycation at Andaz Singapore and this time I am going to another hotel. I was here very early before 8am and my health screening area was at level 12 and it came with a simple buffet breakfast. A hotel + health staycation sounds great. This type of health staycation will be an interesting concept for medical tourism. I saw it during my vacation in Thailand. I suggest Trip.com to test out this market for their global members.

During my past stays there, I do not see the magnificent plant being placed near the pond along the escalator up. The small pond and garden gives you a back to nature feel. When I walk down from the escalator I will look at the beautiful green plants and the fishes inside the pond. The lobby looks grand with the giant sparkling gold light that brightens up the entire hotel lobby. There are many sofa seats for you to rest while waiting for your room to be readied. #celebratewithtrip #tripblazers

The area has a rich Malay heritage culture trail. There is a sultan mosque just opposite the hotel. The hotel is one of the famous hotels for people to hold Malay weddings as the restaurant serves halal food. The famous landmark restaurant is also well liked by many. Offering buffets from morning till evening dinner, the restaurant is always packed with people. The restaurant offers a good serving of international buffet too. The booth is very interesting as it tells the history and the significance of this mooncake festival. Many choices of mooncakes are available at affordable prices. The hotel is a kids friendly hotel and you can bring along your family and kids together for a staycation here. The parking lot is located at the basement level and level 4 respectively. The nearest MRT station is at the green line, bugis MRT station. The mooncake booth is manned by a friendly polite staff. You can try the different kinds of mooncake. To go to level 4, take the car lift up from the basement floor. The family room comes with either 3 single bed (with bathtub) or 1 queen + 1 single bed (no bathtub). Rooms from level 6 to 13 is newly renovated rooms without bathtub. For rooms at level 14 to 19, the rooms and non renovated, but comes with bathtub. The hotel rooms are from 32m2 (superior, deluxe, family, kids theme room, club room) to 64m2 (suite), bigger than average size hotel. The hotel comes with larger than usual king sized bed for selected rooms. It is definitely a family friendly hotel. #muststay

The swimming pool is located at level 5 of village hotel bugis. It is located beside the landmark restaurant. The pool has several sun tanning resting chair and a big pool for you to enjoy. The pool has different heights to suit both adults and young kids. It is advisable to stay with your kids while they are in the pool as there are no safeguard at the area. There is showering area just around the pool corner. It is definitely an enjoying evening bringing your family out for a swim on a weekends. #mustdo

There are parking lot at basement level and level 4. The gym is well equipped with equipments to train your whole body. Take the car lift to go to level 4 from basement level. The kids theme room comes with several themes. Such as princess theme and boys cartoon theme. Each kids theme room have a tent in the room. There is a sofa bed beside the king beds. There is a small table with 2 mini chairs for the kids to do their drawings. All kids theme room is located level 14 onwards and comes with a bathtub. For our room, there is even a giant snake and ladder game in our room. We had a great time playing with the kids. Head over to the restaurant to grab a bite or spend time with your family to enjoy the wide spread variety of buffet food. The restaurant is home to a wide variety of Cruisine. Chinese porridge, different kinds of indian curry with prata , Malay mee Siam and nasi lemak, western scrambled eggs nuggets , pastries such as muffin and banana cakes. This is one of the best restaurants to start your day charged with mind blowing Curry. There are at least 3 kinds of curry provided in the restaurant which goes well with prata and nan bread. There are also authentic chewy yummy beef rendang to go with a plate of fragrance white rice nasi lemak, with fried peanuts and crispy anchovales. Fried food lovers, there are hash brown in bite sizes and fried chicken wings and nuggets. For sweet tooth lovers, there are also pastries, muffins, breads, cakes, to suit your cravings. #mustvisit

Located at Village hotel bugis. The newly renovated kitchenette room comes with a large fridge with freezer compartment, utensils, cooking pans and pots, and cutlery. There is no bathtub in the room. But there is a king bed enough for a family of 2 adults and 2 kids. For the bathtub room, it is located in the theme family room and superior non renovated room. Free parking is included at level b1 and level 4 via carpark lift. The lobby is at level 3. the dropoff point is level 1. The swimming pool and breakfast restaurant is at level 5. The royal Palm restaurant is at level 3. The hotel is house to Muslim rich culture opposite the famous sultan mosque. A 1 min walk brings you to a famous zam zam restaurant. A 5minutes walk brings you to queen Street bus station where you can hop on to the bus 170 and Joohor causeway link bus to Johor Bahru at a price of $5. #muststay

Located in the heart of Bugis and along the perimeter of Kampong Glam, Village Hotel Bugis makes for a perfect base camp for both a cultural and trendy walk. Right beside is the Sultan Mosque, along with colourful rows of shophouses that comprise traditional boutiques and hipster cafes. While the shared building with Golden Landmark Shopping Centre looks a little rundown on the outside, the renovated Deluxe Rooms inside have a modern and fresh look. The room feels spacious and comes with a comfy recliner, making it a good spot to read a book or watch television. The bathroom also feels new and clean, and comes installed with a rainshower. It was a pleasant stay as the view was spectacular for sunrise and viewing the moon. The Sultan Mosque can also be viewed at ight with the light.#staycation

The big white space at the pool is for video projection during weddings. It is kind of weird because during a poolside wedding, hotel guests also can continue to use the pool. Do remember to ask for a pool facing room and you will get to see the sunset glowing through your window. Their pool is not the regular pool shape, from above, their pool looks like a star. At the pool area, you get to see awesome views of Sultan Mosque and Bugis area. As the pool is right next to The Landmark restaurant, there are many diners during dinner time. This is because there are many alfresco pool facing tables during dinner. So try to pick a suitable timing for your pool time.
