Khamchanod Wangnakin Khamchanod is a sacred place that many people know well. It is located in 3 sub-districts: Wangthong Sub-district, Ban Muang Sub-district, Ban Chan Sub-district, Ban Dung District, Udon Thani Province.
A sacred place, a mysterious land of the Naga that everyone knows well. According to history, Khamchanod Island has never been submerged. It is a floating island full of wild Chanod trees. Khamchanod is a place that appears in local legends. It is believed to be the residence of the Naga, Grandfather Sri Sutho, Grandmother Sri Pratumma, and various mysterious things. Khamchanod Island has never been submerged. It is believed that there is a Naga protecting it. Anyone who has been there will feel cool when stepping into this land.
Another legend believes that Khamchanod is a place where humans meet the world of Phraya Sri Sutho, the Naga who created the Mekong River.
Inside, there is a sacred well and 2 shrines for people to worship and make various vows. If you make a vow, you must fulfill it. If you do not fulfill it, disaster will happen to the person who made the vow. Before entering the land of Koh Kham Chanod, we all have to take off our shoes to show that we do not disrespect the land. In front of the island, there will be a tray of flowers for sale, which we can buy from there and walk in quietly. Do not use words or make loud noises as it is disrespectful to this sacred land.

Inside, it will feel cool and you can walk around the atmosphere of the Kham Chanod forest, surrounded by large trees, especially the Chanod tree, which feels like being in an ancient forest. Some people who like to take risks go to pay homage and use powder to find numbers. There is the shrine of Pu Sri Sutho and the Kham Chanod tree.
Every year, the Kham Chanod tree falls because of the high water level, but it cannot make this island disappear. This island is always floating and will never sink, supported by the roots of the Chanod tree.
In some legends, there is a story of a ghost hiring a movie, which is a story about hiring a movie to be shown to viewers in this location, but in the morning, there are no houses or people who come to watch the movie, even though last night, there were many people watching. Therefore, the legend of the ghost hiring a movie has been passed down to this land, along with many other mysterious stories.
Travel: Bangkok can be reached by plane to Udon and then by car from Udon to Ban Dung. There are many buses and vans that can be hired to Ban Dung and Kham Chanod, or you can rent a car, which is not difficult.
