Pingtan | Embark on an Island Getaway at the Hyatt Centric Hotel
Pingtan, this international tourist island, is renowned throughout the country for its "Blue Tears." Exploring here is best done by car, covering both the north and south routes in two days and one night. Conveniently, the Pingtan Hyatt Centric Hotel is located next to Tannan Bay, the heart of the south route. It's perfect for returning after a day exploring the south route, enjoying some seafood, and watching the sunset and chasing the Blue Tears on the beach less than 100m from the hotel.
A few days ago, I stayed at this Hyatt Centric Hotel for a night, checking in to a Deluxe Sea View Room. The room's hardware was excellent, with a separate shower and bathtub, a Dyson hairdryer, a Peet's coffee machine in the minibar area, and complimentary minibar items. The lighting throughout the room was adjustable and controlled by a smart system. The large bed offered a choice of firm and soft pillows, and the sofa by the window provided direct ocean views.
The hotel's public areas are equally impressive, occupying a considerable area across two buildings. The architecture itself is unique; following the stairs along the building's surface, you can walk all the way up to the rooftop terrace, unlocking even more comprehensive ocean and sunset views. The hotel has its own gym, swimming pool, basketball court, and cinema. You can also enjoy a couple of drinks at the lobby bar, which transforms from a cafe by day to a bar by night, ensuring guests have plenty to do within the hotel.
The hotel restaurant's offerings are consistently good. I tried the seafood set menu, which, in addition to seasonal seafood, included the local specialty misuo noodles as a main course – it was delicious. Currently, it's the off-season, so the hotel breakfast can be delivered directly to your room, and the seafood noodles are also a treat. The hotel's self-service laundry room allows you to quickly refresh your clothes. Also, the Hyatt Centric room key cards are quite attractive, which I really liked.
A very enjoyable island trip.
