Historic buildings
The Dapu Catholic Church is an old wooden Gothic church in Japan. It was built in 1864 by French missionaries and enshrines the Holy One who died in 1597 due to the proclamation of Catholic teachings. The Dapu Catholic Church is a representative Gothic building in the Middle Ages. Unlike the European stone building, the pillars and beams of the Dapu Catholic Church are made of wood, the walls are painted with traditional Japanese lacquer, and the eaves are made of Japanese tiles. It is a building that perfectly combines Japan and the West. The interior of the church is inlaid with French stained glass 100 years ago, old and beautiful.
