The Uprising Gate is located on Shouyi Road, Wuchang District, Wuhan City. It is an important part of Wuchang Shouyi Cultural Tourism Zone and a witness to the Revolution of 1911. The Uprising Gate was originally the Zhonghe Gate of the ancient city of Wuchang. It was built in the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty (1368) and has a history of more than 700 years. The Uprising Gate played a pivotal strategic position in the Wuchang Uprising of the 1911 Revolution, and was called "the beginning of the victory of the first righteousness" by historians. In commemoration, the Zhonghe Gate was renamed the Uprising Gate. The gate tower was dumped before liberation, and the uprising gate we see now has been rebuilt in recent years. The city gate is 7.1 meters high and 5 meters wide. There are double eaves and Xieshan towers on the city gate, Zhuzhu Qingwa, and bucket arches. Above the city gate is inlaid the plaque of the Uprising Gate. Climbing up the city tower, you can see Hongshan Mountain, the green jungle, and the tranquility of the Zen courtyard; you can see Ziyang Lake Park in a short distance, the pavilions are scattered, the willows are fluttering, and there is a unique charm. In addition to the main scenic spot Uprising Gate, there are also landscapes such as the Xinhai Revolutionary Stele Forest, the Wind and Rain Corridor, the Chuwang Pavilion, and the Shouyi Beacon Fire Stone Carving. It is now one of the red tourist areas that must be visited in Wuhan.
