Historic buildings
Shou Shan Ting Da Pek Kung Temple is leaning on the hillside of Kuching and facing the river. When the Japanese invaded in 1941, many buildings around it were bombed by the Japanese army, but only it remained intact. The temple was built in 1843, however, official records only admit that it was built in 1876. In 1876, the temple underwent a major renovation. The Shoushan Pavilion Dabogong Temple is backed by the Flower Pot Mountain, facing the Sarawak River, and the mountain is facing the water. "Da Bogong" is the name of the Hakka people for the land master. There are not many people in the Dabogong Temple on weekdays, but every year in the seventh month of the lunar calendar, there will be celebrations, which are very lively.
