I've been curious about local hot springs ever since I found out about them. 📍Location: Tsuru no Yu, Nyuto Onsenkyo It was truly a different world❄️ Get off at Tazawako Station on the Shinkansen Take the bus from Tazawako Station to Alpa Komakusa Tsuru no Yu came to pick me up from there✨ It took about an hour from when I got off the Shinkansen, but even on the bus I was able to experience the snow country with the amount of snow and enjoyed it like an attraction🌈 The inn is a building that has been around since the Edo period The particularly popular "Honjin" has a waiting list of up to six months...!!! Here you can enjoy cooking using the hearth attached to the room. This time, I stayed in the newly built room "Higashi Honjin" at Tsuru no Yu, and I could feel the retro feel from the room, which I thought was ingenious☺️ The highlight of the baths is the "Nyuto Onsen" As the name suggests, the water is white, but there are four different springs with different qualities, called "Shiroyu", "Kuroyu", "Naka ​​no Yu" and "Taki no Yu". The open-air baths are for women and mixed bathing. When you hear "mixed bathing", it may seem like a high hurdle, but women can move from the special changing room to the mixed bathing, and there is a path that connects to the mixed bathing, and the hot water is laid on the path, so they can move to the mixed bathing open-air bath without going outside😊👌 Seeing the hot spring flowers, I could feel the quality of the hot springs, and the Kuroyu and Shiroyu were all good, but the women's open-air bath was overwhelmingly the best🫣💕 It's sad that I can't take a photo of it!! ! ! ! I was fortunate to visit all except Ogama and Magoroku Onsen. Note that Kuroyu Onsen typically opens around late April to early May due to heavy snow in winter. This time, I'll provide a detailed introduction to Tsurunoyu Onsen. We didn't make a reservation and luckily got the last luxurious room at the main building. The price per person is detailed in image. Except for the new main building, most rooms don't have toilets, and even those with toilets lack showers. Bathing is done before entering the hot spring, with facilities available. An 8-tatami room can accommodate up to four people. The room rate includes dinner and breakfast, and the hot spring is open 24 hours. The men's outdoor bath is mixed-gender, but don't feel shy as the milky white water offers privacy.
