Tsingtao Brewery in Qingdao is a touristy spot with beer, so it ticks plenty of boxes. Around the brewery you can buy yourself a bag of beer and have a wander past the many seafood restaurants and smalls bars. Once you've decided to head inside you'll need to buy a ticket and head into the brewery. They teach you about the history of the company, brewery processes and what beers they sell to different provinces and countries. On the way through and the best bit is where they serve you a glass of 'raw beer'. It was cold and apparently had less/no preservatives in. The tour doesn't last too long and you can head on to the rest of your sight seeing pleasantly refreshed.

Getting There - we stayed at the Holiday Inn near May 4th square, from there it’s easy to take a didi for about 25 minutes depending on traffic Tickets - as a foreigner we found we couldn’t buy tickets in advance. Inside the entrance there’s a ticket booth where you get multiple options for snacks and drinks Food & Restaurants - the factory itself has a small gift shop and restaurant at the end where you can buy beer (shock) and some food. However it’s quite crowded so I recommend leaving the factory and looking on the Main Street where there are plenty of seafood options #staycation

When I visited Qingdao, one of the few recommended places was the beer museum. I went here on my last day, taking a taxi from Qingdao No. 2 Bathing Beach and it cost around 20RMB. There is also a subway station close to the museum which could be used. The beer museum has a range of ticket options. I chose the one which included 6 beers at the end as well as the tour. The tour is self-guided with some interactive areas, around the middle you will be given a beer to try. As far as I believe, this is for anyone taking the tour. There are 2 buildings to explore in the beer museum and a gift shop. It’s quite fun to wander through, I went alone but with a group would be more enjoyable. At the end, you can exchange your wristband for your beers. This gives you a row of 6 if you bought that ticket and you can taste test different beers. #urbanexplorer #qingdao #beermuseum

Can be reached via any form of transportation, travelled with a group so we arrived via bus. The place was packed and we first went to have lunch at the Tsingtao beer bar. The food was delicious🤤🤤later we walked maybe for 5mins to the Tsingtao museum for the tour. The tour guide was fluent in English and told us of the history and phases of the brewery. I am not a fan of drinking beer, but this attraction is simply not to be missed, as Tsingtao beer is famous all over China. Although I am not a beer drinker, I really enjoyed this tour. It was a very informative excursion in Qingdao. We enjoyed it a lot! We visited museum and the factory. Museum was built by Germans, it represents a gothic style construction. Museum shows the whole process of brewing from ancient times till nowadays. You will know all the details. There are also tasting events here. Usually they are included in your entrance ticket.
