📍Tendon Kohaku Saw some good reviews about this place so we decided to give it a go! It’s located at Tropicana Gardens Mall, PJ. They are specialised in “Tendon” which is tempura + rice, the place gives a very traditional Japanese village setting and the staff is very friendly, explained about the dishes because it’s our first time here too, they have 2 options of sauce which is original and spicy. We ordered a tempura bowl and a mixed bowl. The tempura is huge and it is surprisingly juicy! If you are looking for a western cafe with a wallet friendly budget you are in luck! Tropicana Garden Mall has recently opened and there are a wide range of shops and restaurant here. One highly recommend place to go here is the chillax cafe located at the corner of tropicana Gardens Mall overseeing a beautiful lake from the restaurant window. This restaurant/cafe is definitely trying to replicate the hard rock cafe style theme where you will be able to see a guitar shaped ice stirrer, a cool looking tea diffuser and many others. The entire restaurant is also decorated with old vinyls and records making these look like being back in the old days where rock song was a hit. Their signature are Taiwanese braised pork rice, XL Tiger Portuguese tart; Kaya butter toast and Ipoh white coffee. A new mall has just popped up here in petaling jaya called the tropicana Gardens Mall located at 29 No, Unit CC, 2A, Persiaran Surian, Tropicana Indah, 47810 Petaling Jaya, Selangor. With a mall with 7 story tall, more than 300 over shops where half of it has opened as this mall just recently opened during covid. One place that you should head to is the Herb valley garden bbq where this place serves authentic Korean bbq with a wide variety of meat dishes to choose from and also Korean sides like japchae, kimchi fried rice and many others. There is also a section where its filled with different Korean maggi mee and what's the best is, you get to do some self cooking here, which means you cook and stir fry your very own flavoured maggi mee! Best korean restaurant in town. They serve a variety of the small side dish and is free flow. The price is affordable and all dishes were amazingly tasty especially the kimchi pancake !!! highly recommends. During the weekend the queue could be a bit long, but the wait is totally worth it.
