One of the places we planned to visit during our trip to Taipei was Treasure Rock International Art Village. We took the MRT and got off at Gongguan Station, then it was a 10-minute walk to the Skywalk. Treasure Rock was converted from some relocated residential buildings into art spaces/studios, and there were also B&Bs available for rent. Since we had one day off during the visit, only some of the spaces were open. After a tour, we walked to the Seaside Park below and planned to leave from another direction. As a result, in very hot weather, we accidentally arrived at Kishuan, a Japanese garden monument that has now been converted into a study, snack restaurant and exhibition hall. Yes, it is carrying the historical memory of Taipei, and it is also the last place to break the building - treasure rock. Treasure rock has been raging because of the demolition problem. Along the hillside, a large piece of old houses that can be seen here were mostly built during the Japanese occupation. In order to beautify the city, the Taipei City Government in 1980 wanted to demolish this area. However, after the active appeals and efforts of all walks of life, it was possible to preserve the treasure rocks. Treasure rock was listed in the designated historical building list by the municipal government in 2004. Around the village, there is a Chinese temple and a riverside bike path where tourists can walk and take pictures. Summary: On the day we went (Saturday), many shops and galleries were closed. Only a few coffee shops were open, so it is recommended to walk along the river or go to Gongguan Night Market.
