Postcard from Polignano, Italy
Polignano is a beautiful town on the eastern coast of southern Italy. Like any other destination in the region of Puglia it offers stunning views, delicious food and romantic vibes 🌅🍝💗
We fell in love with the blue waters even though the beaches are not sandy. Take a pair of plastic sandals with you and enjoy the beautiful sea! 🐟
Don't forget to try the fresh seafood and the octopus sandwich of Polignano 🥪
In the evening there is a very nice atmosphere for walks while you enjoy your ice cream..nice shops and restaurants are open for tourists in the summer nights ✨
A typical Italian summer destination!

Traveling in Southern Italy: POLIGNANO A MARE, a beautiful seaside resort
#Invincible Sea View #Overseas Travel
Enjoying the sea breeze, the endless blue color echoes the mood of vacation. In Polignano a Mare, a small seaside town in southern Italy, the clear turquoise water and the small houses built on the rocky caves create a very unique picture.
🔶Where is POLIGLIANO A MARE? 🔶
It is located at the heel of the boot in southeastern Italy, facing the endless Adriatic Sea. Polignano a Mare is a seaside town in the province of Bari, in the region of Puglia.
The blue sea and the clear wind. In summer, Polignano a Mare is crowded with tourists coming for beach vacations. Even with so many tourists, there is still a sense of space here. The houses along the coast are built on grottoes, which are the characteristic of this small town.
🔶Charming seawater tones🔶
Scogliera del Lungomare Modugno is the most classic photo location in Polignano a Mare. The turquoise waters of the Adriatic Sea and the small houses built on the rocks form such a beautiful picture.
There are not many tourists in the morning, but it is a bit backlit. When we went there again in the afternoon, the scenery was completely different. The sea water was turquoise and clear, as if it was shining with dazzling light.
🔶Hometown of the famous singer DOMENICO MODUGNO🔶
Domenico Modugno, the lead singer of the famous Italian song Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu, was born here. A bronze statue of him (Monumento a Domenica Modugno) was erected in the square.
Tourists passing by can't help but hum a few lines of the song~Volare, oh oh, Cantare, oh oh oh oh. Nel blu dipinto di blu, Felice di stare lassù…..
If you like sunshine and beaches, the beach in Polignano a Mare is a good place to enjoy the summer. Although the beach is not very big, the water is clear and you can see the bottom. There is also a cave called Grotta Piana on the left side of the beach. The surrounding scenery is very unique.
The ancient city center here is also very unique. The white and pastel-colored small houses, as well as the unique shops in the alleys, have a very small town feel.
🔶Itinerary suggestions🔶
You can go there from Bari and visit it as a day trip.
The town is not big and you can walk around. If you don’t plan to sunbathe or relax on the beach in Polignano a Mare, you can arrange to visit the nearby fishing village Monopoli on the same day. The journey by train (Trenitalia) takes only 5 minutes.

Polignano a Mare in Southern Italy: Relax and enjoy delicious food at a seaside restaurant
#Unbeatable Seaview #Overseas Travel
At noon, I chose a restaurant by the sea to enjoy the sea breeze and escape the overly hot sun. The restaurant, Trattoria il Grottone, has sweeping views of the sea and the rows of small white houses of Polignano a Mare. It is 100% super beautiful scenery.
Of course you have to try seafood at the seaside in southern Italy. I ordered a dish of fresh sashimi Antipasto crudo di Frutti di mare and mussels. The sweet sashimi was full of the fresh taste of the sea, accompanied by the never-boring view of the Adriatic Sea. The environment was really intoxicating and the price was very affordable.

Small seaside town in southern Italy
#我好挂住 Polignano a Mare in southern Italy, the azure coastline is so beautiful.
The azure sea, the clear wind, the turquoise waters of the Adriatic Sea and the seaside town of Polignano a Mare 🧡 built on a cave form a very unique picture. In summer, this place is crowded with tourists coming to the beach for vacation.
Domenico Modugno, the lead singer of the famous Italian hit song Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu, was born in Polignano a Mare. A bronze statue of him was erected in the square, and tourists passing by couldn't help but hum a few lines of the song~~
🇮🇹The endless blue color echoes the mood of vacation... I hope I can visit again after the epidemic.
Polignano a Mare is located at the heel of southern Italy, in the region of Puglia. It takes about 35 minutes to get there by train from Bari.

In the old town of Polignano a Mare
#AprilTravelSupport I thought I could see the sea from the balcony, but it wasn't open because it was the off-season. I was able to take a break while walking around the old town in Polignano a Mare and having a cup of cappuccino. I recommend taking a break at Polignano a Mare Old Town with a beautiful view. #beautiful_italy

The pictures painted on the ceiling
#AprilTravelSupport I was filled with awe as I looked at the ceiling paintings in the Polignano a Mare Cathedral. Just like when I saw the Duomo in Florence, I was grateful that the passion and delicate artistry of the Italian artists at the time were preserved so well that I could see them. Come see them in Polignano a Mare Old Town! #beautiful_italy

The serene atmosphere inside the church
Dedicated to Santa Maria Assunta, the church features many paintings related to Mary that catch the eye. The architecture seems to be a blend of Baroque and Gothic styles, making the observation of the interior quite enjoyable. If you visit Polignano a Mare, I highly recommend taking the time to experience the peaceful and tranquil ambiance of this church.

Church of Saint Mary of the Assumption
#AprilTravelSupportI couldn't help but exclaim in amazement as soon as I entered the entrance of the cathedral. I recommend it because it is a wonderful place, from the door I passed through to the decorations and the orgel and the holy painting on the ceiling.

It looks like the sky and the sea are connected
#AprilTravelSupport Polignano a Mare While walking around the city, I came across a place with such a great view that the sky and the sea seemed to be connected no matter which direction I walked, and it felt so healing. The alleys in the city were so cutely decorated that I recommend it as a place worth visiting.

In a small shop with a lot of affection
#AprilTravelSupport I only went to big marts to shop, but in Italy, I often came across small shops like this. I felt a sense of affection for this place, and since I could buy fresh fruits, vegetables, cheese, and eggs, it was a store I wanted to visit again if I stayed at a nearby accommodation. I recommend this place because you can say hello to the kind owner and feel the warmth that is shared in Italy. #bellaitalia

With a delicious beer
#AprilTravelSupport I ordered a delicious octopus salad as an appetizer for lunch. I ordered an Italian beer and they brought me a delicious beer called Ichnusa, made in Sardinia, the second largest island in Italy. This beer is delicious, so if you find a place that sells it on a hot summer day while traveling in Italy, you should definitely try it!

Looking at the beach
#AprilTravelSupport This is a place where you can see beautiful scenery at sunset and in the evening. If you go down the stairs behind the statue of the famous singer Domenico Modugno, you can sit on a wide rock and have a good time with three or five people. I recommend it because you can enjoy romance while looking at the sea.

A place to stop by when going to see a beautiful beach
#AprilTravelSupportAfter seeing Lama Monachile and turning back, you will see another small bridge that was built during the ancient Roman era. The river is dry so it doesn't flow. Thanks to the sturdy construction of the bridge, you can go down to the beach below, so I recommend it as a place to stop by when going to see the beautiful beach of Polignanao a Mare. #bellaitalia

Looking out over the Adriatic Sea
#AprilTravelSupport Polignano a Mare I think it's a beautiful city overlooking the Adriatic Sea. You can also see the coastal caves if you book a tour, but the tour I booked was suddenly canceled due to the waves, so I couldn't see it, which was the most regrettable. I recommend it because I want to come again next time. #bellaitalia

Museum of Contemporary Art Pino Pascali
#AprilTravelSupport I happened to find this museum of contemporary art while walking along the coast. It wasn't very big, but the scenery was so nice that it seemed to go surprisingly well with the paintings on display. One thing I regret was that there was no museum cafe with this beautiful ocean view. If the director had been Korean, I wish he had run a cafe.

Beautiful panoramic view
#AprilTravelSupport This is a recommended place because it is a lookout point where you can see the sea, Polignano a Mare city, and the beach all at once, and it is also a place where you can enjoy the best sunset. I recommend it because you can enjoy a very beautiful panoramic view because the rocks that have been formed over time are widely spread out.

In the summer
#AprilTravelSupport If you come here to swim in the summer, you should definitely bring aqua shoes and a thick mat or towel because it is a pebble beach. Personally, I think it would be better to go to another beach where there are not many tourists. I recommend choosing a beach that suits your personal taste. #bellaitalia

The view of the bridge and the sea
#AprilTravelSupport Lama Monachile The bridge and the sea view on the way down to the beach were so beautiful. Personally, I visited during the off-season so the water was cold so I couldn't swim in the sea, but it was better because I could see the sea quietly on the beach.

If you want to go down to see the sea
#AprilTravelSupport If you want to go down to the famous sea in Polignano am Mare, follow the yellow signs. After passing the square in the center, walk under the bridge. Even if you don't find the way, since it is a place visited by many tourists, if you follow where the people go, you will come across the sea. #bellaitalia
