A 3 hours drive out of Ho Chih Minh city you can see the third largest River in Asia and twelfth in the world. This is the only transportation for tourists to go across the villages which has some stalls selling local souvenirs and snacks. We spent a day cruising the Delta on small paddle boats in the canals and larger motorised wooden boats between the Islands. The river is so fertile that although rural it is densely populated. People live, trade, go to school and travel along the riverbanks.
