[Listen carefully to the sounds of birds chattering and water flowing at Jomyo-ji Temple in Kamakura, Kanagawa Prefecture]
On this day, I wanted to absorb the negative ions of nature into my whole body, so I visited Jomyoji Temple and walked around the temple grounds, where I heard that they serve matcha tea, so I decided to try it.
French and German were spoken in the temple grounds. The relaxing space overlooking the garden was a lively place for visitors to socialize and hold business negotiations, and the sounds of birds chattering away were a very sociable temple.
Jomyoji Suikinkutsu was developed in the Edo period and is a device placed in the garden to play the sound of falling water. When you listen to the long bamboo tube, the sound of water dripping into the water jar resonates, setting aside the sociable surroundings for the time being, and even the vibration of the bamboo tube makes you pay close attention to it.
This auditory experience is also good for children.
