Beng Beng To
11 Nimmana Haeminda Rd Lane 13, Tambon Su Thep, Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai 50200 Thailand
Open daily 08:00~23:00 I heard that Beng Beng To is famous for its tripe, so I thought it was a meat restaurant. There was only a Thai sign on the outside wall, and the building didn't really look like a meat restaurant, so I went in wondering if this was the right place. It's quite spacious for a Thai restaurant, and when I went in the evening, the rattan lights were on, which created a really nice atmosphere. I found out that it wasn't a meat restaurant, but just a local Thai restaurant. Hahaha! It's like indoors or outdoors, and the combination of the green plants and rattan lighting that you can't miss in Chiang Mai is really the best. I ordered the pork belly (Charcoal Grilled Pork Belly/ 127 baht) and tripe (Charcoal Grilled Pork Chitterlings/ 127 baht) that I wanted to eat today, sticky rice, cola, and a glass of ice. The cola came out first. They only gave me one bottle of cola, but they really gave me a whole basketful of ice. Hahaha If I hadn't come with a child, I would have just had a glass of draft beer, but it was too bad. The tripe also came out. Maybe because it was grilled over charcoal, the oil was completely drained and it was light. I actually like the tripe a little crispier, so I wish they had grilled it a little more, but it was still okay.
