I stayed at the Moriaki Ryokan in Ikaho Onsen, Gunma last summer. The ryokan is located near the stone steps of Ikaho Onsen and is quite large. The room had a small garden, and I really liked the view from the window. The food was also very delicious, and I enjoyed the ryokan's meals. Mizusawa udon is one of the three major udon in Japan, and it has a chewy texture that goes down easily and is delicious. Udon, soup and tempura are all delicious. Ikaho Onsen Stone Steps Street!!! This place has a history of 1,200 years and is where locals pray for health, marriage and hot spring safety. The shrine is not big, but the atmosphere is very quiet and peaceful. Walking through the red torii gate, ringing the bell, throwing in a 5 yen coin, and simply making a wish is like calming your mind. Standing in front of the shrine and looking down, the entire stone street is right under your feet, with the mountain scenery in the distance, which is super healing.
