Through the Rift of Time: A Canoe Expedition to Bell Island
At dawn, the Sai Kung waters shimmer as the canoe slices through the tranquility, heading toward the breathtaking Bell Island. Passing through the 30-meter-high "Bell Arch," the waves echo within the basalt cave like ancient chants. The hexagonal basalt columns, forged by volcanic activity millions of years ago, reflect sharply against the emerald waters, as if paddling into a fissure of geological history. During high tide, the canoe gently brushes against moss-covered sea erosion crevices, and fingertips graze the cool rock walls, seemingly touching the remnants of volcanic eruptions from 140 million years ago.
Entering the hidden "Goldfish Tail" sanctuary, sunlight pierces the sea surface, illuminating coral reefs. Clownfish dart among antler corals, while snorkelers dance with the ocean, claiming this Hong Kong "Okinawa" as their own crystalline paradise. Climbing to the island's heights, one overlooks cliffs sculpted by waves and crescent-shaped bays. The layered rock textures resemble ancient inscriptions, bearing witness to the eternal struggle between nature and time.
On the return journey, the group passes through Ox Tail Island, where the guide leads them through the "Tunnel Cave." The paddle stirs waves that resonate with the rock walls, intertwining the awe of modern adventurers with the courage of ancient seafarers. As dusk falls, the canoe carries memories of salt-weathered rocks back to shore. The setting sun stretches shadows into the coastline's final note—this journey is not just a test of physical endurance but a reverent inquiry into the epic of geological history.

Tiu Chung Chau is an island located at the southern tip of Kau Sai Chau in Sai Kung.
The southern side of the island has been eroded by waves for a long time, causing the cape to separate from the rock mass, forming a sea stack called "Bell Rock". However, because it looks like a goldfish, it is often called "Goldfish Tail". As the waves continued to erode the rocks, a 30-meter-high sea arch called the "Diaozhong Cave" gradually formed in the rock. The "Diaozhong Cave" is shaped like a large bell in a temple. When the sun shines on it, a golden bell will appear hanging upside down in the air, hence the name "Diaozhong Cave". There is no direct public transportation to Tiu Chung Chau. Please arrange your own boat transfer. 👍👍👍
