Historical Heritage Walk
Well, it’s basically a trail which has historical buildings and monuments dotted around as you go. Definitely a different bit of character compared to SZ. HK has several of these trails so after a quick search I decided to do the Ping Shan Heritage Trail. It is roughly 3km so not long or hard and it is in Tuen Mun area which is extremely close to the SZBAY border. Here’s my guide if you wanted to check it out.
The trail starts from Tin Shui Wan MTR station exit E. Cross the road and you will soon see the Tsui Shing Lau Pagoda, this is HK’s only ancient pagoda is dates back over 600 years. There was an informative and helpful staff member on duty there, even though the pagoda is quite small. She told me the pagoda was built to improve the Feng Shui of the local area so that flooding disasters were prevented to the village. You can go in and see the shrine and read the information on the wall which gives you its history. You can’t go to the top sadly. There is also a trail map near here which points you in the next direction.
Follow the sign and a short walk later you’ll come across the Shrine of the Earth God. This is an outdoor shrine that’s weathered and aged and has tons of character. If you see this you are going in the right direction. Next on the trail is Sheung Cheung Wai, this is a walled village, made up of a small community of houses or apartments. The alleys are narrow and the building is old and you can smell the history here. I saw everyday people going about their business and not giving me a second look, was a nice change!
Next is the Yeung Hau Temple, small and will be a flying visit but it’s a grade III listed building so worth checking out. The old village well is also in this area, at one point it provided the drinking water for the entire area. As you pass this you’ll enter what is a residential area, with lots of people milling around, doing their daily business. Nothing to see here really, unless you’ve never seen apartment tower blocks before, they are just part of the route. Follow the signs and for the Ancestral Hall and you will soon be through the concrete jungle and back on the historical trail. If you’re feeling peckish, right about now on the trail there is a local little eatery that did fantastic milk tea and local snacks, I really recommend you try this. If you don’t want to satiate your taste buds then keep plodding forward.
Next on the trail are 2 ancestral halls; Tang Ancestral Hall and Yu Kiu Ancestral Hall. These are next to each other and are virtually identical. Except Tang is around 700 years old and Yu Kiu is around 500, they were both members of the same ancestral family. There is also a study hall to see and another small temple, the trail will then lead to the Heritage Trail Visitors Center, which concludes the trail.

High-quality Croissant Waffle
Today, I visited a dessert shop near Tin Shui Wai MTR station that offers a variety of beautiful and unique desserts 🥰 The restaurant has multiple signs along the way, making it easy for customers to find the place ❤️ The exterior is stylishly painted and looks cool 👍 Remember to take some photos 🤗
I tried the highly recommended Mochi Croissant Waffle 😚 I chose the Oreo flavor 🤤 The croissant waffle is made to order, and it was still warm and fragrant when served 🤭 It was crispy and buttery, with a savory aroma 😋 Paired with the cream, Oreo crumbs, and the cold ice cream on the side, the combination of hot and cold flavors was unforgettable 😚
I also ordered a Chocolate Lava Cake 😉 It came with a variety of colorful fruits and a smooth, delicate scoop of ice cream 👍 The presentation was rich and beautiful 😍 The outer layer of the cake was fragrant and sweet, with a crispy texture and a soft interior. The chocolate filling was rich and outstanding, a must-try for chocolate lovers ✅
For drinks, I had a cup of Rose Honey Rose Tea 😎 The shop thoughtfully served the honey separately, allowing customers to adjust the sweetness to their liking 😚 Very considerate ❤️ The tea was filled with the delicate fragrance of roses, tasting sweet and refreshing 🤤 A perfect choice to cleanse the palate 👍

Hotel with an awesome view.
Harbour Plaza Resort City is a comfortable hotel connected to a shopping center in Tin Shui Wai
The room is aged but if you compare with the price. It is ok! There are many restaurants around the hotel. The light rail station is just outside the hotel. Very convenient! The drawbacks are when you walk in the hotel you can smell the grease from the buffet line ,old buildings grease terrible smell but if you pass the lobby you won’t smell anything.
Stayed 17 nights.

A lesser-known spot in Hong Kong that most people wouldn't think to visit—Ping Shan Heritage Trail
❤️Recommended because:
👉Yuen Long Ping Shan is one of the oldest areas in Hong Kong, and the Tang clan is an indispensable important clan in the New Territories.
👉From the early Northern Song Dynasty to the present, the Tang clan has established "three wais and six villages" in Ping Shan, constructing many ancestral halls, temples, study halls, ancient pagodas, and other traditional buildings. These cultural heritages preserve the historical memory of Ping Shan.
👉This trail is the first heritage trail in Hong Kong and is also content that I am very interested in. It's amazing how well the 🇭🇰 clans have preserved Chinese traditions, and it's rare to see such a complete group of folk relics in the province.
📍Detailed address:
Transportation is very convenient, less than 2 kilometers in total from 🚇Tin Shui Wai E3 exit, about a 20-minute walk. I took a bus when I went, but those who are physically fit don't need to.
Suggested walking route🚶♂️🚶♂️because I toured from the top of the hill downwards. If you start from Tin Shui Wai station, the route is just the opposite. The map is on the last slide
👉The Tang Clan Heritage Museum is a museum and also the visitor center of the heritage trail, converted from the old Ping Shan Police Station of 1899. Because it is built on a small slope at the top of the hill, you can also overlook Yuen Long.

Hong Kong Flower Appreciation | Tsuen Wan Park's Double Cherry Blossoms in Full Bloom
The Hong Kong Flower Show ended last Sunday (19th). Unfortunately, about 20 double-flowered cherry blossoms in the exhibition area only bloomed in the last three or four days of the exhibition period, causing many people to miss their beauty. However, recently, some netizens discovered that at least eight double-flowered cherry blossoms have been transplanted to the Tuen Mun Park under the jurisdiction of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department for replanting, forming a stunning pink cherry blossom forest. It is expected that when the double-flowered cherry blossoms fall, everyone will have a chance to see the beautiful "cherry blossom snow" scene!
Recently, some netizens discovered that there were suddenly about eight double-flowered cherry blossoms in Tin Shui Wai Park. As they approached, a pink cherry blossom forest came into view, which was very shocking. It is reported that about 20 double-flowered cherry blossoms were displayed at the Hong Kong Flower Show earlier, but unfortunately they only bloomed gradually in the last three or four days of the exhibition period, and one or two of them were only in the state of 20-30% blooming, which was a pity to discard. Therefore, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department also stated at that time that after the flower show ended, the cherry blossoms in the venue would be sent to parks under the jurisdiction of the department for replanting.
Recently, netizens discovered a double-flowered cherry blossom tree in Tianshuiwei Park, which was also marked with a number on the trunk and was cited as being from the same batch as the double-flowered cherry blossoms exhibited at an earlier flower show in Hong Kong. Although some of these double-flowered cherry blossoms have already bloomed during the flower show, they are still very lush in Tianshuiwei Park, with cherry blossoms covering the entire tree!
In addition, the double-flowered cherry blossoms usually bloom between February and March each year. As an improved variety of mountain cherry blossoms, their color and flower shape are similar to those of mountain cherry blossoms, but their petals are more complex and have about 14-15 layers. When they wither, the petals of the double-flowered cherry blossoms will loosen and be blown away by the wind, and this phenomenon is called "sakura snow" by the Japanese, which creates a romantic scene. Therefore, if you visit Tuen Mun Park during the day, you may have the chance to see the beautiful "sakura snow" scene.
