I spent two hours at the gorge and was completely mesmerized by the views. Standing above the Jinsha River, I watched the water roar through the gorge below, carving its way through towering cliffs. The views were absolutely majestic — jagged mountain peaks, lush greenery, and the power of the river all converging in one spot. It’s a sight that makes you feel the true scale of nature. The area is easily accessible. There’s an escalator available for those who need it, making it especially convenient for elderly visitors. Walking down is easy, so you can enjoy the gorge at your own pace and I recommend buying a one-way ticket to go up to save energy. I like the 2-day, 1-night trekking at Hodo-gyeop. It was a bit disappointing because the weather was cloudy, but the way down from Chamagodo 28 Band is a bit harder than the way up. And there are places where the path isn't marked, so it's confusing. But the way there is nice and I like it. #Hodo-gyeop trekking #Chamagodo

Getting There - hired a private driver to travel from Lijiang to Shang-rila Attractions - 1. Tiger Leaping Gorge - must-visit, stopped by enroute to Shang-rila. 2. Potaso National Park - can skip if time’s tight, just a casual stroll round two lakes, scenery ok. 3. Napa Hai Grassland - not much grassland during winter period, but good experience riding a horse 4. The entire high-road hiking trip takes 2 days. The starting point of the hike is Naxi Yage (Picture 8). After passing through 28 turns, you can have lunch at the Tea Horse Inn. There are check-in cards along the way and you can take selfies in the mirror to compare photos (Picture 2). There is a large balcony similar to Half Way, where you can have coffee and lunch. After the break, continue the high-road journey. There are many viewing platforms and Eagle Beak Rocks on the way where you can take photos and check in (Pictures 12 and 10). The end of the hike is Half Way, an internet celebrity check-in point. (Picture 13), you can stay here and watch the sun shine on the mountains and the stars~! After getting up early, continue the high road journey, passing Longdong Waterfall along the way, and arriving at Teacher Zhang’s Inn. After lunch, follow Teacher Zhang’s path (Pictures 3, 4, 5) down to the riverside. There are Daze Stones and Laiyun Stones on the riverside where you can stay. To take photos, you have to queue up for "Photos of Life🙋" (Picture 1). You can first go to the opposite side to listen to Tao Ferry☕️, then go back to the riverside and queue up (queuing for about 1 hour). Remember the shooting time, and you can find your own photos according to the shooting time at night. ~! For the return journey, you can take the original route of Teacher Zhang's path, or take the 198-level ladder (Figure 7), which takes 1.5 hours, or take the Xixiantian, which takes 2 hours. ⚠️The ladder is the fastest way to return. It is divided into 4 sections, all of which are relatively vertical. It is not recommended for those who are afraid of heights! We get there from lijiang ancient city to shang ri la by bus which it took around 3 hours to reach there. We start our hike from naxi guesthouse and end our hike in halfway guesthouse where we stay at judy guesthouse on our first day. The first hike took around 6 hours! The view was amazing and stunning 💯 Our second day hike from halfway guesthouse and end at tina guesthouse which it took around 3 hours hike down. #myhiddengems Skip on the tourist side of this place of Yunnan province and go down the sky ladder instead! The ladder will cost you .15rmb. There is a waterfall with a very interesting bridge that will lead you to another rock with photo opportunities. Away from the waterfall you will have two more rocks to access. The one pictured costs another 10 rmb but there is a very cool colorful bridge you cross to get over to it. From the sky ladder side you can cross under the rock trail to get to a cool cave and then the long hike back to the main road. You’ll start just past Tina’s guest house and end near Sean’s guest house!

Second time hiking Tiger Leaping Gorge, the first was just a tourist check-in, this time a hike is a must! It's actually not as easy as some say it is for beginners, because hiking the high road with cliffs and precipices is inevitable. There is definitely a risk involved, so those who are afraid of heights should consider carefully; other aspects like physical fitness are manageable, but since it's not a commercially developed route, safety is still the most important when it comes to wild paths.
