I thought Wuzhen was beautiful enough, until I visited Yanguan, Haining...
🎈Yanguan, the City of Music and Tides, is a shining pearl in Haining, Jiaxing, Zhejiang✨. It is the front yard of Hangzhou👈, the backyard of Shanghai👉, and the back garden of China🌸.
Walking here, it feels like you've traveled back to the Ming and Qing Dynasties, or the Republic of China🎞. Xu Zhimo and Wang Guowei's former residences quietly tell the stories of history📜. Emperor Qianlong visited Yanguan four times out of his six trips to the south, which shows how charming it is😎.
The Tide-Watching Park is definitely the best place to watch the Qiantang River tidal bore🌊. The surging tide is truly breathtaking💥. Gongchen Water Gate, a 600-year-old Yuan Dynasty city gate, is crossed by乌篷船 (wupengchuan), a traditional boat. The江南水乡 (Jiangnan water village) atmosphere is simply beautiful😍. The Song Dynasty armor in the Liankai Hall is very rare, and was created by Mr. Wen Chenhua👏. The boys can wear the handsome armor, and the girls can try the female armor, which is great for photos📷. At night, stand by the music fountain at the visitor center. The tide rushes down, making you feel like you're in a fairyland, like a dream🧚.
Jin Yong Academy, with its Jiangnan garden style, pavilions and waterside pavilions, is especially suitable for Chinese-style photos🤳. There are also many works by Mr. Jin Yong inside📕. The Sea God Temple is a "palace-style" building dedicated to the God of Tides. In the backyard, there are imperial steles of Emperor Yongzheng and Emperor Qianlong, full of historical weight👍.
At night, the lights come on, and you can experience the night market of the tide city, feeling the romance of the lights and the sunset💕. In Yanguan, the City of Music and Tides, various music performances are held in turn. Under the city wall, the historical weight and the musical dynamism intertwine to form a series of vivid paintings🖼.
🏡Where to stay? Xu'andemen Hotel is a good choice😃. Under the ancient city wall, the entrance is a Jiangnan garden, full of Chinese aesthetics. The rooms are spacious, simple and elegant, and there is a shuttle bus, which is very convenient🚗.
🥢What to eat? Beimen Chaojie can solve your three meals a day😋. You can try local delicacies such as Haining Jar Meat and Qianlong Banquet Balls, which are delicious👍.
Tips: The entire Yanguan, the City of Music and Tides, is quite large, but the attractions within the area are concentrated, divided into north and south zones. You can take the scenic bus, which is very convenient😉.
