Did you escape the city to camp and hike in a place without a ceiling, or did you spend the entire holiday visiting bookstores and ancient architecture museums for an art tour?
I'm sharing my Xiamen travel story, guiding you to a great place in Xiamen to make a wish!
———Brief Introduction to the Scenic Area———
Tianzhu Rock Temple is located on Xianyue Mountain on the north side of Lianyue Road in Huli District, Xiamen. It belongs to Heshan Xianyue Society. The temple was founded during the late Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty (1712-1722). Due to its solitary location and hidden deep in the mountains, it was rarely visited, and its history of destruction and reconstruction is unclear. In the late Qing Dynasty, a monk from Nanshan Temple in Zhangzhou took up residence here, worked hard, rebuilt the temple, and insisted on practicing Zen Buddhism.
The temple is designed according to traditional Chinese temples, emphasizing axial correspondence. The architectural complex is based on yellow walls and tiles, which is a traditional Minnan style. With the support of the Dharma congregation, the temple has taken shape, and the Dharma Hall, Luohan Hall, Bell and Drum Tower, Ancestor Hall, and Guan Gong Hall have been completed.
