The red maple leaves at Tianping Mountain in Suzhou are breathtaking!
Listen up, ladies! The red maple leaves at Tianping Mountain in Suzhou are breathtaking! It's definitely the "top attraction" you can't miss this fall!
The maple leaves here are colorful, and their reflection in the water looks like an oil painting. It's so beautiful that it makes you cry! The maple leaves have already started to put on their "fall clothes." If you're planning to enjoy the fall scenery, you can get ready to go next week!
📍Location: Tianping Mountain Scenic Area, Wuzhong District, Suzhou
🎫Tickets: CNY 30, free with a garden card!
🚇Transportation: Take Metro Line 1 to Mudu Station, then take a taxi to the scenic area.
⏰Opening hours: 7 am to 5 pm
📷Photo time: I took beautiful photos on November 15 last year. The maple leaves turn red a little later this year, so next week to December is the best time to visit!
🍁My recommended spots for viewing maple leaves:
1️⃣Baiyun Pool: The small bridge, ancient trees, and pool water complement each other, making you feel like you've traveled to a paradise!
2️⃣Baiyun Temple: The golden ginkgo and fiery red maple leaves intertwine, making a romantic combination!
3️⃣Baiyun Spring: Known as the "No. 1 Water in Wuzhong," the water is clear and refreshing. Even Lu Yu, the tea sage of the Tang Dynasty, praised it as good water!
4️⃣Ancient Maple Forest: The ancient maple trees here have endured over 400 years of wind and frost. They are the "ancestors" who have experienced many vicissitudes and are worth seeing!
5️⃣Shijing Pond: A typical representative of colorful maple leaves. Walking on the bridge feels like being in a painting, with a strong sense of atmosphere!
6️⃣Wangfeng Terrace: Overlooking from the mountainside of Tianping Mountain, you can see the entire maple scenery, which is truly a feast for the eyes!
⭐️Travel tips:
✅There are many people during the Maple Leaf Festival, so remember to go early! Rush in as soon as the scenic area opens. It's recommended to arrive before 8 am!
✅After 8 am, driving up the mountain is easy to get stuck in traffic, and parking spaces are also tight, so it's best to park your car in the parking lot at the foot of the mountain!
✅Be sure to choose a sunny day to go! The maple leaves all over the mountains are dyed in layers, and the scenery is so beautiful that it makes you intoxicated. I can take photos all day long!

Suzhou is breathtakingly beautiful this month.
📍This is Tianping Mountain! The 31st Tianping Mountain Maple Leaf Festival is here and will last until December 22. It's one of the four best places to see maple leaves in China.
🎫Tickets are only CNY 30. When the maple leaves turn red, the scenery is like a fairyland. On sunny days, the blue lake, green mountains, and fiery red maple leaves are a feast for the eyes. Wear white or khaki clothes, and you'll look great in photos. 📷
🚇Transportation: You can drive or take Metro Line 1 to Mudu Station, then ride a bike. 🚲
🗺️Route: Visitor Center ➡️ Fan Zhongyan Memorial Hall ➡️ Baiyun Pavilion ➡️ Echo Valley ➡️ Mountain God Cave ➡️ Mountain Top ➡️ Wanghu Terrace ➡️ Tianyun Temple ➡️ Mimi Ridge ➡️ Take the shuttle bus back (CNY 20 one way, CNY 30 round trip).
👀The best time to see the red leaves is around mid-November, when the maple leaves are the most colorful, with varying shades of red against the blue sky and white clouds.
Please note the following👇:
🔹Clothing: The temperature difference between morning and evening is large in autumn, so bring a light jacket to avoid catching a cold. Wear comfortable shoes for walking.
🔸Environment: Enjoy the natural beauty while keeping the area clean.
🔹Plan ahead: Plan your transportation and try to avoid the weekend and holiday crowds.
🍁Best places to see maple leaves:
✅Baiyun Pool: The dense maple leaves, wooden pavilion, and small bridge are great for photos.
✅Tianping Red Maple Stele: The stele and a tall maple tree complement each other, making it a great photo spot.
✅Shijing Pond: Walk along the path, and you'll see many maple trees. The lakeside is picturesque.
✅Fan Zhongyan Memorial Hall: In addition to maple leaves, the ginkgo trees will soon turn yellow.
✅There are many maple leaves along the Tianping Mountain hiking trail, so don't worry about not getting good photos.

Tianping Mountain
Tianping Mountain's red leaf pictures🍁 are so beautiful! Love it! It's indeed a great place to enjoy maple leaves! It's suggested to go earlier, we arrived at more than 2 pm, and the parking lot was already full, and there were quite a few tour groups. But the on-site scenery is really good, it looks good no matter how you take pictures. The layers of maple leaves with different shades of color are indeed the most beautiful scenic spot in Suzhou. Fan Zhongyan made a careful selection, really good!

Hiking to the top of Tianpingshan
Tianping Shan is an excellent location if you are looking for a hike. during Summer I was able to take a trip over to this location and had an amazing experience. however I would recommend you to visit during the autumn season, so that way you can experience the beautiful orange leaves 🍁.
it’s quite easy to get to this location, you just need to hop on the metro line 1 and go all the way to the end then you can either take a taxi or a bus to Tianping Shan.
I would say that this isn’t too hard of a hike . there aren’t any extremely steep points along the hike.
this location also has a few small shops, and the have a small museum as well, where you can read more about the history.

Trekking near the city? Lingyanshan
Lingyanshan in Suzhou is a great one-day adventure near the city. A cute garden welcomes you in the entrance of the park, followed by stone stairs that will connect you to the Lingyan Temple in the summit, or the Tiangpinshan trails. You may find few structures in your way up, including some shops. Scenery from the temple is gorgeous, specially the view to Tianpin mountains.
⛩ For the temple, you climb for half an hour to reach this lovely architectural site. This Buddhist temple has around 1,600 years old. This temple remains as a monastery, and entrance fee is only 1 RMB.
⛰ For Tianpin mountain trails, you need good shoes and carry your own food/water. This is around 15km trek up and down the mountains (many times). Some people even chose some areas for rock climbing, mountain biking or running.
🍁 Ideal time to visit is autumn, so you can admire the maple forest at its best. This forest is said to be brought from Fujian province by Fan Yunlin, during Ming dynasty.
Scenery is beautiful, just remember to keep your pace. Different parts of the trails have different levels of difficulty. Some areas are very challenging, you need to be precise with your steps and hang yourselve to the trees or ropes (not found in all areas). Keep in mind you can get lost if you move away from main ‘road’. Despite the fact the mountains are very popular for a weekend trip, and you will find many tourists along the way, there are no buildings or shops until you reach to the lake.

There is a tea room on the mountainside where you can sit with a cup of tea in the open air, quiet and comfortable. Don’t miss the Shoutao Lake under the Tianping Mountain. You can enjoy the Suzhou Tianpingshan during autumn if you want to have a visual feast. The maple leaves of Suzhou Tianping Mountain gradually change colour as Suzhou autumn becomes thicker.
In the process of reddening, the colour of maple leaves will change first and foremost. Even in a single tree there will be various colours, dark green, bright yellow, orange red, blush and deep red. During the red maple season, the peaks of the mountains are surrounded by red clouds and Danfeng. When it comes to the autumn landscape, the maple leaf is always prominent. Perhaps everyone is thinking about Beijing Xiangshan, but let me tell you that it is not far from Shanghai in Tianpingshan, Suzhou!

The maple leaves on Tianping Hill have turned red!
🍁 Take advantage of the good weather this weekend and go to Tianping Hill to enjoy the autumn scenery. After waiting for a year, the "maple" craze is finally here.
🍁 Suzhou's Tianping Hill, Beijing's Fragrant Hills, Nanjing's Qixia Mountain, and Changsha's Yuelu Mountain are known as the "Four Best Places to See Maple Leaves in China." However, I think the colorful maples here are more beautiful. Green, yellow, orange, red, and purple leaves create a colorful scene under the blue sky and sunshine, which is truly intoxicating.
🍁 The reddest maple leaves are currently between Shijing Pond and Baiyun Pond. The scenery along the water is the most beautiful, with the pond water reflecting the maple leaves like an oil painting.
🍁 There is also a tall ancient maple tree on Tianping Hill that is slowly changing color. It was planted by Fan Yunlin, the 17th grandson of Fan Zhongyan, during the Ming Dynasty's Wanli period. It is over 400 years old and is expected to be even more spectacular in a week.
⛩ Admission: CNY 30
🚞 Transportation: Take Bus 4, You 4 Long Line, Holiday Line 6, or Bus 664 to Tianping Hill Bus Station

Visited Tianping Mountain on November 23. The photos were taken with a smartphone rear camera and are unedited.
The weather was sunny, the sky was blue, and some of the maple trees had turned red. They were all near the entrance, around the small lake, and not on the mountain. If you don't like climbing, you don't have to go up.
It's maple viewing season, so there were a lot of people. The roads were congested. You can take the subway to Mudu Station, exit from Exit 3, and take Bus No. 4.

November 23
From October 1 to December 22, you can enjoy the red maple season in Suzhou! The maple leaves on Tianping Mountain are famous for their unique "five-color maples," which range from light yellow to deep red, layer upon layer, like a natural palette, and are breathtakingly beautiful. Especially in the sunset, it is like a poem or a painting. In the middle of the mountain, you can look out from the Wangfeng Terrace in late autumn, and the layers of red leaves are like gorgeous clouds, with pavilions and pavilions hidden among the maple leaves, revealing a little green tile, adding a bit of poetry. In the sunlight, the color of the maple leaves is even more gorgeous. In addition to enjoying the maple leaves, you can also visit the temple of Fan Zhongyan and feel the sediment of history. You can also go to the east side of Baiyun Temple to see a 370-year-old ginkgo tree, which adds a touch of color to the sea of red maples with its golden leaves. You can take a picture of the scenery at will. There is no need to retouch the picture. It is a very enjoyable feeling to go to see the maple leaves with friends.

The maple leaves of Tianping Mountain are famous for a reason. They are absolutely stunning!
Tianping Mountain's red maples are one of Suzhou's must-see autumn attractions. Unlike other places, the colorful maple trees here come in a variety of colors, including red, orange, yellow, green, and brown. If the weather is good, you can see the reflection of the sun through the maple trees on the water, like an oil painting. Currently, the maple leaves have already changed into their autumn colors. If you want to enjoy the autumn scenery, you can choose a day and make a plan.

It is recommended to drive up the mountain and park in the parking lot at the foot of the mountain after 8:00. It is easy to get stuck in traffic after 8:00, and parking spaces are tight.
Now is the Maple Leaf Festival, and there are really a lot of people!
Try to choose a sunny day, and the colorful layers of the forest will be more vibrant!

Suzhou's autumn can be considered the pinnacle of autumn travel!
The Humble Administrator's Garden is the largest classical garden in Suzhou. In autumn, it becomes a colorful and picturesque place. There are several maple trees in the garden that are particularly stunning, making it a great spot for photography!
Although the autumn scenery of Canglang Pavilion is slightly less impressive compared to other gardens, a few maple trees in the garden shine brightly in the autumn wind, with yellow leaves falling and the entrance exuding a strong Jiangnan charm.
In late autumn, the maple leaves on Tiger Hill gradually turn red, creating a beautiful scene like a painting. The ginkgo avenue at the entrance is simply amazing, complementing the Tiger Hill Pagoda.
Huanxiu Villa is a lesser-known garden in Suzhou, with fewer visitors each day. Sitting under the red maple trees in autumn and enjoying the scenery is a fantastic experience!
Tianping Mountain is one of the four major spots in China for viewing maple leaves. In autumn, it looks like a palette, with vibrant colors. The leaves of various trees are blown into a riot of colors by the autumn wind—red, yellow, green—creating a natural oil painting.
Lingering Garden is one of the four famous gardens in China, known as the "leader of Jiangnan gardens." In autumn, the ginkgo and red maple trees bloom romantically, forming a three-dimensional beautiful picture.
Daoqian Street is the top choice for autumn viewing in Suzhou. The ginkgo leaves turn from green to yellow, and walking along this road with sunlight shining on the golden leaves, who wouldn't love such autumn romance?
Putian Organic Ecological Agriculture Park has the most beautiful red maple avenue in Suzhou. Go early, and with sunlight filtering through the maple leaves onto the ground, walking alone here, the atmosphere is perfect.
Suzhou also has a lot of delicious food, such as sweet osmanthus sugar lotus root, soft and sweet; delicious Tibetan lamb, warming and tasty; and crispy socks-bottom pastry, with a bite full of fragrance.
When visiting Suzhou in autumn, it's important to plan your trip in advance and arrange your route according to the opening hours of the attractions. Pay attention to weather changes and bring appropriate clothing. When taking photos, be mindful of the environment and avoid trampling on flowers and plants.
