Natural scenery
Tianchi is a quarrying site left behind by the construction of palaces by quarrying stones when the capital of the Southern Song Dynasty was Hangzhou. There are seven artificially excavated stone pools on the top of the island, which later generations called Tianchi. The Attraction has now been transformed into a cultural attraction consisting of the Bailong Monument Corridor, Tianchi Fish Watching, Four-fold Waterfall, Stone Culture Exhibition Area, Stoneware Workshop, and the world's most beautiful water. Tianchi was originally named Qingshibu, named after the production of high-quality building stone "Tea Garden Qingbi Stone", and is located in the Southeast Lake District. The Southeast Lake District is the earliest lake area to develop tourism in Qiandao Lake. The stones produced in this area are tough, soft and uniform in texture. The stones are relatively soft before mining, and the size and thickness are selected according to needs. After mining, they gradually harden after being exposed to wind and rain, and are not easy to weather. Therefore, there is a saying that "the most beautiful stones in the world come from the tea garden". As soon as you get on Tianchi Island, you can see the stone inscription "The Most Beautiful Water in the World" on the stone wall from afar. Dragon characters can be seen everywhere in the Attraction, including a huge cursive "dragon" character written by Chinese calligrapher Mr. Sha Menghai when he was 87 years old. On the steps next to it, there is a calligraphy gallery, which displays 25 dragon characters with different styles and charms, all from the hands of domestic calligraphers; in the Tianchi area, there is a huge stone relief, on the left is the legend of the origin of Tianchi, and on the right is the huge engineering scene of mining tea garden bluestone in ancient times.
