[2025 Phu Quoc Island Attraction] Travel Guide for Thom island (Updated May)

Xiangdao is located in the waters of Kien Giang Province, Vietnam, with pristine coral reefs and mangrove ecosystems forming a natural base. The outline of the island is gently wrapped by the turquoise sea water. At low tide, the exposed mudflats form a winding waterway. The wooden boardwalk passes through the arched tunnel formed by the roots of the mangroves, and the light spots leaking through the gaps between the leaves flicker with the rhythm of the tide. The white sand beach on the east side of the island extends gently, with shell fragments and weathered coral remains mixed among the sand. Behind the coconut grove, there is a bamboo bird-watching platform, where you can observe the silhouettes of egrets flying over the lagoon to hunt. The reef area on the west coast retains the remains of a fishing village. The decaying wooden piles and barnacle-covered anchor chains hint at the former maritime settlements. The renovated stilt houses now offer charcoal-grilled seafood and local dishes seasoned with fish sauce. The snorkeling area on the island is designated in the shallow reef area just offshore, where clownfish often swim among the staghorn corals. During the rainy season, the streams on the island swell, and you can paddle a canoe deep into the heart of the mangroves, where the ferns hanging between the tree trunks and aerial roots form a natural curtain.
