It was a trip to Nagoya and friends. Just to share some of the places that we visited 🥰 We visited Nagoya Castle, which was originally built in 1612. Nagoya Castle was the seat of the Owari branch of the Tokugawa shogunate. One of Japan's most important Shinto shrines, Atsuta Shrine is over 1,900 years old and is dedicated to the sun goddess Amaterasu. ⏰6:00 AM - 5:00 PM 💰Free 📍1-1-1 Jingu, Atsuta Ward, Nagoya, Aichi 456-8585, Japan If you are looking for a restaurant for lunch, I would suggest you to try Atsuta Horaiken. We ordered Hitsumabushi (grilled eel over rice), which is known as Nagoya specialty. It was delicious and we loved it so much ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 💰 ¥3,900 - ¥5,000 per person 📍503 Godocho, Atsuta Ward, Nagoya, Aichi 456-0043, Japan Besides, we also walked around the Osu Shopping District. A bustling shopping area with a mix of traditional and modern shops, Osu has been a commercial hub since the 17th century. We were able to buy most of the souvenirs and gifts there 🎁 ⏰Varies by shop; generally 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM 📍Osu, Naka Ward, Nagoya, Aichi 460-0011, Japan We also went to Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology. We discovered the history of Japan’s railways and learn about the future of high-speed train technology. We find to very interesting and worth to visit if you’re a very “technical person” 🥰 ⏰ 10:00 AM - 5:30 PM 💰 ¥1,000 📍3-2-2 Kinjofuto, Minato Ward, Nagoya, Aichi 455-0848, Japan We also spent sometime to walk around Tokugawa Art Museum and Garden. This museum houses samurai artifacts, artworks, and treasures from the Tokugawa family. There are a lot of things to see. Their signature is Miso Nikomi Udon (thick udon noodles in a miso broth). The interior of the restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere like being abroad 🇮🇹 On this day, I had a peach panino. Prosciutto x cheese x pesto sauce x peach It went very well together and was delicious 😋 The bread was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside ✨ There are several types of paninos available at all times, and peach is a seasonal menu item. This is a popular restaurant frequented by locals. The collections are priceless, if you are into warring state history. Fairly large museum with exhibitions centered around Tokugawa Ieyasu and the daily lives of the wealthy from long ago in Japan. Also, houses original and reproductions of a very famous Japanese story The Tale of Genji. Very nicely presented exhibitions and it is extremely peaceful inside as you walk through. This made for a fairly unenjoyable experience, however I do still recommend going. The cherry blossoms in Nagoya usually bloom in early April, and I have come to Japan at this time to enjoy the beautiful cherry blossoms in Nagoya. #thingstodo This is a wonderful museum about the Daimiyo period. It talks about the lords, vassals, the lifestyle and mentality of the time. As someone who enjoys learning about history I really enjoyed this museum. Beware, the museum is predominantly in Japanese with small labels of English. So the parts of the museums explaining the stories will be pretty much lost on you and there are no subtitles for foreigners. You are also not allowed to take any pictures inside the museum. Mostly it is for security reasons as the objects, scriptures and scrolls you will see on display are from the time period and very susceptible to light. Would highly recommend visiting and be sure to check their lovely garden area.

It is a stop on the Me-guru Nagoya Sightseeing Route Bus that travels around Nagoya's tourist spots, so it's a good place to stop by after seeing Nagoya Castle. In addition to a waterfall, pond, and teahouse in the garden, you can also see irises and autumn maple leaves depending on the season, and in winter you can see many types of winter peonies. There is also a restaurant and art museum adjacent, so you can have a meal while looking at the garden, or admire the items related to the Tokugawa family at the Tokugawa Art Museum.
