The third tunnel, also commonly referred to as the third south invasion tunnel. These secret underground passages are said to have been used by North Korea to launch a large-scale military attack on South Korea. The interiors of these tunnels are so wide that a division can pass through them every hour. It was later discovered by South Korea and has become a tourist attraction today. The third tunnel is 73 meters above the ground, with a total length of 1,635 meters, and is an arched tunnel. The tunnel had crossed the dividing line between the two countries and was discovered and terminated 435 meters into South Korean territory.
