Hometown of modern celebrities in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China
Tangjiawan Ancient Town is located on the west bank of the Pearl River Estuary in northern Zhuhai. It is an ancient village that has been preserved relatively intact from the late Qing Dynasty and the early years of the Republic of China. This is the hometown of many modern historical and cultural celebrities, including Su Zhaozheng, leader of the workers' movement, Tang Shaoyi, the first Prime Minister of the Republic of China, Tang Guoan, the first president of Tsinghua University, and Gu Yuan, a famous printmaker.
