It began with the reservation desk, a game of phone tag we didn’t sign up for. After several tries to connect the call & call drops, I finally connected with someone who expertly skipped mentioning the fine print about pre-booking for the dinner at their so called "award winning restaurant The Market"(But did highlight-it will cost more on 7th at The Market & difference will be informed at the time of checkin as it was spl dinner on d day). Spoiler alert: this omission sets the tone for the trip & our learning of what award winning experiences are offered at the Market and Ritz Carlton. Fast forward to check-in,where we arrived just in time to discover we hadn’t magically guessed the unspoken rule about pre-booking dinner. Despite confirmation via email on the inclusions of daily dinner at The Market,it was a no-go(Felt insulted, my daughter asked why the staff spoke rudely as if we were outcasts). We were escorted to an à la carte restaurant - Riwaz(where water was served after 4 followups & food arrived so late our daughter-reason for this getaway practically fell asleep in her chair). By 11:15 PM, dinner was less a meal & more a checkbox task.[The only moment our daughter felt happy was when their associate Ms Neha arranged treasure hunt activity(20mins) the following day on Dec 8; This too was scheduled after my follow-ups with the Ritz-Kids team] In short,what should have been a rejuvenating family stay turned into a masterclass in frustration, 5star lesson in miscommunication & lack of business ethics of not honouring the booked services. For this property basic communication seems alien. 5star prices, but the service?
