[2025 Singapore Restaurant] Travel Guide for The Populus (Updated Apr)

Located along Neil Road in Outram Park, the Populus cafe is quite a popular cafe which sometimes attracts long queues waiting outside for their turn. Personally, my favourite food on the menu is the ice cream waffle, as they add a tall soft serve on the waffle instead of the usual scoops of ice cream. The waffle is also decorated with edible flowers that make it look pretty and Instagram worthy. The ceramic cup that they used for the hot chocolate is also cute, as there was a little bear figurine once I finished the hot chocolate. As with many cafes, it is not cheap price wise but once in a while, it is okay to support these cafes when a special occasion calls for it, or when an opportunity to catch up with friends and colleagues comes up. Reservations are preferred when I was there, as there is limited seating for dine in. Hence, do reserve in advance if possible, so that you do not have to wait too long especially on weekends and public holidays. #musteat

1. The Populus - Take crispy fried fish and Sweet and sour and sweet Soba salad is amazing coffee is good. I show other customer ordered some waffle menu. It seems delicious too. 2. Bird of Paradaise - When I went to Singapore like a three or four years ago there was only one spot but now it has more than more than four spots. I strongy recommend mint cocoa chip flavor. When I visited only pint is available for that flavor so I ordered strawberry basil and black sesame something. still amazing 3.  Merci something- this is famous place so you know what I meant. 4. This oyster fried something menu is amazing. Maxwell Fuzhou oyster cake. 5. Bacha Coffee 6. This prawn mee menu is amazing I went there twice I definitely recommend when you were in Singapore. 7. Brotherbird Coffee House - you have to visit this place to try this doughnut tree. This chewy doughnut makes You are tongue happy. The toffee nut syrup not sure though adds more flavor. The ice cream on top leads the balance of hot and cold and makes flavor more enjoyable.

This cafe is situated among the colourful row of cafes and has a decent chalkboard outside its entrance inviting the passers-by for a quiet brunch. The exterior is far from being flashy and presents a modest design. The populous cafe has flaxen furniture and overhanging lights which displays an industrial look. This cafe is weirdly famous for its fast wifi and has a power socket under every table. If you are looking for a cosy cafe, then Populous is the best fit for your requirement. #café

#cafestory I make it a point to stop by the populas, whenever i am around Neil road. The coffee is just perfect and I now I have tried their brunch, several breakfasts and a coffee stop over a dozen times. Never have I found it missing anything. They do get pretty packed around certain hours. But that just goes to show how good the place is and so deserves all the repeat customers. My personal favourites include their pancakes, crispy fried chicken. I am a French toast maniac and this place does the best ones. Both pesto and coffee are two things that sets them apart from a lot of places. The staff is friendly, the service is efficient. Prices at par with what you'd expect from a cafe like this. The portions are good for sharing. So no complaints. It's split into 2 levels. I find the second level nicer and it tends to be less occupied than downstairs. #singaporetrip Address - 146 Neil Road, Singapore. Ambiance/Facilities - this is a modern and cosy Cafe located in the busy area of Singapore City. They serve great breakfast and variety types of International Cuisines, from dishes to desserts in the choices. We ordered some of the very signature dishes from the menu to try on, all are tasty and delicious. Avg. Price per Person - friendly pricing.

#singaporetrip Lunch catch up with my friend. But the ambience was the really the highlight. Nice mix of wood and industrial design with sufficient daylight bleeding into the interior. Great place to have brunch and coffee. This place can get crowded so do plan ahead. Options array. Very friendly & accommodating staff. Take note, portions are quite big. Maybe I’m a small eater. Coffees great too. Highly recommended.
