The Peninsula Manila Hotel
This trip to Manila, Philippines for business, there was nothing to say, but booking The Peninsula Manila Hotel with Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts (FHR) was a surprise, so share.
Walk into the lobby, basically you think it is 80% similar to the Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong. The hotel rooms were just renovated during the pandemic, and are mainly simple.
I used to stay here for business, but the room is darker, now it is much brighter.Because of FHR, I arrived at 12:30 to have a room, the room was upgraded from Deluxe Room to Grand Deluxe Corner Room.
FHR also includes 60 minutes in-room massage, but I like in-spa, so I switched to 90 minutes in-spa massage with about HKD150, but Peninsula Spa is very small, not too beautiful, but there are sauna and steam room available, it's okay.
Surprise is Club Lounge access, including breakfast, afternoon tea and evening cocktail.Afternoon tea although buffet style, but the food is the same as the tea set in the lobby lounge.Evening cocktail with champagne and wine, but also oysters, cooking station and genuinely exquisite canapés接入。
In fact, Manila traffic congestion problem has improved due to the existing Skyway (more expensive than Expressway), money can be much faster, but I am used to inviting work partners to the hotel for meetings, they love the peninsula, over for meetings no problem, so I do not have to walk around.
