Whenever we have special occasions we would always look for a place that we can celebrate and most espicifically a fine dining restaurant. Blackbird was recommneded to us and true enough the service and the quality of food is of fine dining level. Not only the food is fantasic but it beautifully located in a historic heritage building. Philippine politics has actually always been in a relatively turbulent state. There are often people or opponents who form a rebel army to overthrow the government of the time. In 2007, a senator teamed up with 25 officials including generals to attempt a coup. At that time, their rebel stronghold was in the Peninsula Hotel in Manila. At that time, the government troops drove the armored vehicle directly into the hotel lobby. and negotiated with the rebels in the hotel to finally quell the coup. Although there were no casualties, the hotel suffered considerable damage.
