#2024TravelReview Visiting the famous Taoist mountain #Sanqingshan was also the highlight of this trip to Jiangxi. Sanqing Mountain is located in Jiangxi Province. It is the collective name of the three peaks of Yujing, Yuhua and Yuxu. It is named because the three peaks are steep and towering, like the Three Pure Ones sitting and lying on the top. It is known as the first fairy peak in Jiangnan. In order to facilitate entry and exit of Sanqing Mountain, we chose to stay at the Hilton Hotel at the entrance of the scenic area and embarked on a two-day hiking route in Sanqing Mountain. Fortunately, the weather was good in the morning, so I could see the beauty of this fairy mountain in the fog. On the first day, we took the cable car from the Jinsha Visitor Center up the mountain, passing the Giant Python Coming Out of the Mountain, Yitiantian, Yutai and Sunshine Coast scenic areas. On the second day, we watched the sunrise from Yutai in Nanqing Garden, then went to the West Coast Scenic Area and Sanqing Blessed Land. After returning to Nanqing Garden Scenic Area, we went down the mountain from Waishuangxi Cableway. There are two high mountain plank roads surrounding Sanqing Mountain, one is the Sunshine Coast and the other is the West Coast. The plank roads built on cliffs have superb scenery and you can enjoy the strange peaks and rocks along the way. The landform is somewhat similar to that of Huangshan, but the stepped plank roads are much easier to walk than those of Huangshan. Because of its towering terrain, Sanqing Mountain is shrouded in clouds and mist all year round. If you want to see the true appearance of this fairy mountain and blessed land, you have to try your luck and pray for good weather. Our trip was a great explosion of luck. Dress: The temperature difference is large in spring. Sanqing Mountain needs to be equipped with a windproof jacket, and it is recommended to wear waterproof shoes in the Wuyuan fields. Avoid Pits: Huangling tickets include the cableway at CNY 145, and online ticket purchases are CNY 10 cheaper; Wangxian Valley night tickets are CNY 20 more expensive than daytime tickets, but the lights are more worthwhile.

Middle Circle Route (4~5h) Jinsha Cableway - South Coast Boardwalk - Wanshouyuan Scenic Area - Yixiantian - Yunu Kaihuai - Yutai - Yuhuangding - Giant Python Emerging from the Mountain - Eastern Goddess - Jinsha Cableway descent 80% of this hiking route is flat or downhill. Only Yixiantian + Yunu Kaihuai are uphill, and Yixiantian can be taken via the porter route, which is not as steep. Most people hike counterclockwise after getting off the cableway, but this route is clockwise. It avoids crowds and congestion, making it more enjoyable and comfortable with fewer people. To date, it has garnered honors such as "World Natural Heritage" and "World Geopark". Longing to visit, we set out from Wuyuan, Jiangxi, in the morning, chartered a car to Mount Sanqing, all for a glimpse of the beautiful sea of clouds, the lifelike strange rocks among the mountains, and the ethereal aura of Mount Sanqing. We took the Jinsha cableway up the mountain, aiming for the South Qing Garden. South Qing Garden is where the essence of Mount Sanqing lies, with iconic attractions such as "Python Emerging from the Mountain" and "Goddess Peak" located here. Goddess Peak resembles a long-haired maiden with a serene expression, standing firm for thousands of years, incredibly lifelike. Python Emerging from the Mountain is a pictographic stone pillar, formed by long-term weathering and the force of gravity, with steep cliffs, a slightly flat top, and a slightly thinner neck, just like a giant python breaking through the mountain, truly a masterpiece of nature.

During the plum rain season at Mount Sanqing, I thought I would encounter continuous drizzle and the scenery would be hidden, but I never expected to be so lucky this time! In the early morning and evening, the light rain is like poetry, and from noon to before sunset, the clouds and mist disperse, revealing picturesque views. For tourists who usually lack exercise, it is important to climb the mountain according to one's ability. Although Mount Sanqing is small, some parts of the mountain are rugged, requiring constant ascending and descending of stairs, which can be a challenge for the knees. A hiking stick is very practical here, as it can lend you a helping hand at critical moments. The moment you reach the summit, the beauty of looking down on all the other mountains is fully captured. Regarding our itinerary and route, here is a share for future visitors: On the first day, we started from the Wai Shuangxi cable car, passed by Ri Shang Mountain Villa, and then headed directly towards the West Coast. Along the way, we passed through the West Coast plank road area, where the scenery is as poetic and picturesque as it gets, with a sea of clouds tumbling amidst the continuous mountain ranges. Then continue to climb up, still going up stairs, you can head north to Sanqing Palace. For the second day, when our physical strength was slightly lacking, we chose to walk slowly, resting several times along the way. The general pace was to choose the more difficult path uphill and the easier path downhill. Starting from the Wai Shuangxi cable car, we went right after Ri Shang Mountain Villa, climbed up the One-Line-Sky, then to Yutai, and afterwards took a small loop around the South Qing Garden scenic area on the left. The scenery of South Qing Garden is particularly beautiful, surrounded by mountains with varying elevations. As long as you climb to a high place, you can look far into the magnificent corner of the East Coast sea of clouds, and also enjoy famous sights such as the Eastern Goddess and the Python emerging from the mountain. Choosing to stay at the Hilton Hotel next to the cable car during holidays not only provides a comfortable sleep but also close proximity to the cable car entrance. Both cable car trips were smooth and unobstructed, which is indeed a rare experience! Among the beautiful sights of Mount Sanqing, the West Coast viewing spot is the most recommended.
