Doi Inthanon : the highest mountain in Thailand
Doi Inthanon is Thailand’s highest mountain, reaching an elevation of 2,565 meters (8,415 feet), located in Chiang Mai Province in northern Thailand. It's part of Doi Inthanon National Park, which is known for its stunning natural scenery, waterfalls, diverse wildlife, and unique cloud forests. The park is a popular destination for both local and international tourists who come to enjoy hiking trails, birdwatching, and the cooler climate. Doi Inthanon is also home to the King and Queen Pagodas, built to honor King Bhumibol and Queen Sirikit, which provide breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
The entrance fee to Do Inthanon national park is 300 baht and if you enter with your own vehicle, you have to pay an additional fee for the vehicle.
King and Queen Pagodas entrance fee is 100 baht.

Morning
6:00 AM - Departure from Chiang Mai

8:00 AM - Arrive at Doi Inthanon National Park

8:30 AM - Visit Wachirathan Waterfall
One of the most impressive waterfalls in the park, it’s a great spot for photos and a refreshing start to your day.
9:30 AM - Twin Royal Pagodas (King and Queen Pagodas)
Explore the beautiful gardens and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.
Midday
11:00 AM - Summit of Doi Inthanon
Head to the highest point in Thailand at 2,565 meters above sea level. Take a short walk to the summit marker and enjoy the cool, crisp air.
12:00 PM - Lunch at a Local Restaurant
Enjoy a meal at one of the local restaurants or the Royal Agricultural Research Center’s restaurant. Try some local Thai dishes and fresh coffee from the nearby plantations.

1:00 PM - Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail
This 2-3 hour trail offers stunning views and a chance to see the unique flora and fauna of the region. Note that a local guide is required for this trail (200 baht).

4:30 PM - Sirithan Waterfall
Another beautiful waterfall to visit on your way back down the mountain.
