In the 1930s, he lived in the southernmost town of the United States for nearly a decade. In addition to his well-known writer label, he is also an excellent boxer, a global traveler, a brave battlefield hero, an avid fisherman and hunter, and a senior alcoholic gambler.
The period of residence in Key West is Hemingway's golden years. He usually gets up at 6 in the morning, writing until noon, and fishing or drinking in the afternoon and evening. Most of the words in "Farewell to Weapons", "The Rich and the Poor", "Death in the Afternoon", "The Green Hills of Africa", "The Snow of Kilimanjaro" and "Who Is the Death Bell?" The Hemingway Home and Museum
This is a tour really worth doing when visiting Key West. There was air conditioning and fans inside the house that did help with it being so hot outside. We love touring the home it was very quick and easily can be done in 15 to 20 minutes.
Then we toured the grounds and the guest house where we saw tons of adorable Hemingway cats. The cats were so sweet and liked to be petted. They were cats all over the grounds, and it was always fun to spot a new one and say hi. They have a gift shop with lots of books and gift souvenirs. All in all it was a great visit.
The Hemingway Home and Museum is an absolute must visit for literary enthusiasts and history buffs alike.
