[Recommended Saga Attractions] Takeo Shrine⛩️|The Secret World of Giant Trees that Traveled Through Thousands of Years
#AprilGoodDestinations2025
When traveling to Saga, Kyushu, in addition to the famous Takeo Hot Springs, you must make a pilgrimage to this spiritual and historical shrine - Takeo Shrine!
The shrine itself has a history of over 1,300 years, with beautiful architecture and a tranquil atmosphere, but its real highlight is a tree called "God's Tree" - Takeo Okusu (武雄の大楠)🌳
This giant tree is said to be over 3,000 years old and is one of the most sacred trees in Japan. The trunk is so wide that people can walk inside. You will be so shocked that you will be speechless when you see it in person!
Although it is now impossible to get close to or walk into the sacred tree hole (a fence has been set up on site to protect the tree), you can still feel its magnificence and sacred aura from afar. When you stand in front of the big nan tree, you will feel that time has stopped. It is a great place to quietly feel the energy of nature.
